A FOUR PIECE IRISH SILVER TEA SERVICE, Dublin 1966, mark of J.W, comprising tea pot, hot water pot, cream jug and sugar bowl, the tea and hot water pots applied with ornithological swan finials and plain 'c' scroll handles, each piece with wavy rim, chased and engraved in naturalistic style with swans and foxes amongst scrolling foliate decoration interspersed with vacant cartouches and raised on lion mask capped rope twist legs terminating in paw feet, (c.1897g all in). A MATCHED IRISH FOUR PIECE TEA SERVICE, Dublin 1823, mark of Edward Crofton, Dublin 1941, mark of West & Son, Dublin 1817, mark of William Nolan, and Dublin 1948, mark of Weir & Sons, comprising tea pot, hot water pot, cream jug and sugar bowl, all in the Rococo Revival taste, of oval baluster form, with applied cast handles in the form of caryatids, the bodies profusely decorated with embossed leafy and foliate scrolls to an orange peel ground surrounding vacant cartouches, the tea and hot water pots each with cast naturalistic flower head finials, the teapot also with cast spout in the form of an exotic bird head, crested to one side. 27.5cm wide over handle and spout, (c.2,768g).
