Hallmarked Jones & Crompton Birmingham 1903. The teapot has surface scratches from general wear and tear to the body. There are areas of tarnish, especially in the grooves of the
Edwardian four piece decorative tea set comprising teapot, hot water jug, milk jug and twin handled sugar bowl, each piece of baluster form, frilled rim and vacant cartouche surrounded by high relief floral scroll embossing, each piece is raised above four floral scroll ball feet. Hallmarked Charles Clement Pilling London 1905 and 1906. Total weight 71.1ozt (2211.3gms). There are surface scratches and some small, shallow dents to all the objects. All of them stand a little unsteadily, but the sugar bowl is the worst. The lid of the hot water jug is a bit stiff. There are large build-ups of polish on all the pieces, especially on the embossed decoration and the handles. There are areas of tarnish too. The handles of the water jug and teapot are worn looking. The hallmarks are all rubbed but still easily legible. The water jug and teapot are marked 1906, and the milk jug and sugar bowl are marked 1905. The insides of all three pieces are discoloured and dirty, and the insides of the milk jug and sugar bowl look as though they have been gilded.
A late 1960's silver three piece tea service, with half reeded decoration, comprising teapot and cream jug, both Sheffield 1688, by Mappin and Webb, also a sugar basin, Sheffield 1970, by Roberts and Belk; 40.6 oz (1152 gms). The tea set is in generally good condition. There are just some minor scratches to the silver work on the tea pot, the hallmark is nice and clear, the tea pot is stamped Mappin & Webb Ltd London to the bottom base. The tea pot is stained to the interior bottom. The handle and knop look a little worn. There is no serious damage to the cream jug or sugar bowl.
A silver plated tea service comprising tea pot (a/f), hot water jug, milk jug and twin handled lidded sugar bowl, each of bulbous form raised on four ornate feet with scroll detail and shaped final together with a silver plated tray with acanthus style scroll engraving, moulded raised rim raised on four turned feet. The tea service is in poor condition at the moment. All the items have some combination of surface scratches and small dents, and all are badly discoloured, the tray in particular, which is also very dirty. The teapot in is particularly bad condition. It is missing one of its feet, and the hinge of the lid is bent, meaning that the lid will not close properly at all. The engraved decoration on all the items, and particularly that on the tray is all in good condition. The service would benefit from cleaning, and the teapot from some repair work.
A number of plated items to include a three piece tea service comprising teapot, milk jug and twin handled sugar bowl each of bulbous sectioned form with gadrooned rim, each piece numbered 227. An octagonal pedestal dish with sun burst pierced decoration, acanthus scroll open work handles, frosted glass liner, raised on a circular footed base, numbered 0236. A lidded dish with frilled rim and glass liner. The tea service is in very good condition with only slight surface scratches and small areas of discolouration to the exteriors. The inside of the teapot is very badly discoloured however, and the insides of the jug and sugar bowl are spotted with tarnish. he pedestal dish is also in good condition. The glass is quite dirty. The inside of the dish is scuffed and scratched. he lidded dish has some surface scratches, and the glass has some blemishes and air bubbles.
