HUNG CHONG; a late 19th/early 20th century Chinese Export silver three piece tea set comprising teapot of squat baluster form, elaborately embossed with chrysanthemums, with bamboo effect handle, finial and spout, set with with ivory insulators and bakelite foot rim, length 24cm, milk jug and lidded sugar bowl, Canton or Shanghai, combined approx 36.3ozt (3). CONDITION REPORT: Due to the ivory insulators we are unable to ship this lot outside of the EU. Teapot: the lid hinge is slightly loose and a later glued foot rim. Minor surface wear throughout the lot.
A small mixed lot of ceramics to include a pair of 19th century Chinese blue and white shallow bowls, diameter 16cm (af), a further bowl, a Canton Famille Rose teapot, a Japanese lacquered trinket box, also a Japanese carved rootwood netsuke/scoop decorated with a frog, two character marks to underneath, a hardstone bi-disc, diameter 4cm, etc.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley 'Intarsio' teapot decorated with yellow and mauve narcissus flowers, printed marks to base Rd.No.330702. 3168, length 20cm. CONDITION REPORT: The spout has been totally and extensively restored as has a large area of the foot rim. There is a crack running from the rim down the side of the teapot. Heavy crazing to the interior, some crazing to the exterior. The finial of the lid has been restored as has half of the inner lip section of the lid.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley 'Intarsio' Imperial teapot decorated with an Imperial crown, printed marks to base Rd.356481. 3183, length 24.5cm, believed to be the only example. CONDITION REPORT: The finial of the lid has been restored where the cross meets the body, this being the area of the band of brown. There are some small chips to the underside of the lip where the lid meets the teapot, tip of the teapot spout has been restored. Crazing to the interior and there is a 3cm crack running through the foot rim towards the base of the handle.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley semi-porcelain wrythen moulded teapot and stand with matching jug with correct pewter lid, all pieces decorated with roses, printed marks, teapot no.7366, length of teapot 25.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: A tiny chip to the inner lip of the teapot and spout chipped but section present., slight scuffing to the raised parts, some very light rubbing to the gilding, general surface wear. A small chip to the under rim of the lid.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley semi-porcelain squat circular teapot and water jug with pewter lid, both decorated in the parrot and roses design, printed marks, no.7462, length of teapot 19.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Rubbing to the gilding of both pieces, light crazing, minute chip to the rim of the teapot, general surface wear.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley semi-porcelain teapot decorated with large flowers and an Imperial teapot with printed mark 'Late Foley, Shelley, England 7666', the first with printed marks no.7614, length 18.5cm and 23.5cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: Heavy rubbing to the gilding of the floral decorated teapot. Crazing and staining to the interior and staining and crazing also to the exterior. Rubbing to the raised parts. The Imperial teapot has several bad cracks to the body, the lid has virtually been in two with a crack running 90% of the way through spurning a 1.5 x 2cm chip to the flange, also rubbing to the gilding.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley snowdrop shaped teapot decorated with pink daisies, height 19.5cm and a small Foley teapot decorated with violets, height 10cm (2). CONDITION REPORT: The snowdrop shaped teapot has light rubbing to the gilding but shows no sign of use. The small teapot is cracked twice through the rim, each running approx 5cm, has staining to the rim and also to the interior and exterior around the base of the spout. Heavy rubbing to the gilding and some surface wear.
WILEMAN & CO; a Foley 'Faience' teapot decorated with stylised floral sprays, printed marks Rd.337994. 3177, length 21cm. CONDITION REPORT: Heavy rubbing to the gilding throughout. The finial has been broken off and crudely repaired, there is a small chip to the rim which has been badly repaired. There is heavy crazing to the interior, heavy crazing to the base spurning several hairline cracks running just through the foot rim. Scuffs to the raised areas, noticeably to one side leaving two unsightly areas to the decoration and general staining and surface wear.
