A Chinese Export Canton Famille Rose Porcelain Initialed Tea Service, mid-19th c., painted in tones of sepia and gilt with a variety of garden scenes below the gilt initial "R", comprising colorful, broad borders, comprising: a butter tub, cover and stand, two reticulated platters, a teapot and domed cover, a coffee pot and domed cover, a large fluted jug, a fluted milk jug, a cream jug, a waste bowl, a sugar bowl and domed cover, 9 cake plates, a round dish, 7 breakfast cups, 7 teacups, 8 large saucers and another similar, 12 saucers, height of coffee pot 10 1/4 in. Provenance: Christies, New York, Jan. 26, 2006, lot no. 138.

A Canadian Sterling Silver Coffee and Tea Service, Carl Poul Petersen (1895-1977), act. c. 1944-1975, Montreal; comprised of a coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar and creamer, each hammered body with stiff leaf decoration, bud and leaf finials, ebonized wood handles, coffee pot height 9 1/2 in., combined weight 59.90 troy ozs. Note: Danish-born Petersen apprenticed with Georg Jensen from 1908 to 1913. After moving to Montreal in 1929, he worked as master silversmith at H. Birks & Son. He started his own firm in 1944.
