CONDITION REPORT: The items were possessions of the vendor's grandparents, their Grandfather being Lord Stopford of Fallowfield, one of the first Life Peers established in 1958 and who was for many years Vice Chancellor of Manchester University.
A late Victorian hallmarked silver three piece tea service with bird and foliate scroll embossed decoration and engraved initial "R", John Millward Banks, Chester 1898, length of teapot 21cm, combined approx 19.1ozt. CONDITION REPORT: The lid of the teapot is broken away from the hinge and has left an unsightly hole where this occurs. Signs of wear throughout but otherwise OK.
A Shelley "Melody" pattern tea service, comprising teapot, sugar bowl, jug, preserve pot and cover, ashtray, butter dish, bread and butter plate, six 24cm diameter plates, six rounded square section side plates, six 14cm diameter saucers and six cups in three different sizes. CONDITION REPORT: Minimal rubbing to finial of teapot otherwise appears good with no further obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
SHELLEY; a comprehensive suite of Art Deco orange and grey banded teaware; 12132 pattern, comprising teapot, coffee pot, large jug, small jug, small bowl, two bread and butter plates, six tea cups, nine side plate, nine saucers, three coffee cups, three coffee saucers, one small side plate and six bowls. CONDITION REPORT: Surface dirt generally. Bowls: most have very small firing bubbles. Sandwich plates: small abrasions to pattern. Milk jug: very small firing bubbles. Teapot: very small firing bubbles, tiny scratches to white body. Cream jug: discolouring to orange under handle. Plates: generally small firing bubbles and tiny abrasions commensurate with use and age. Marks under rims, probably made by maker. Very small patch of staining under rim. Tea saucers: generally small firing bubbles, small abrasions commensurate with age and use, small marks probably within making process. One has hairline crack from edge to foot. Tea cups: small firing bubbles, rough edge to one cup rim and abrasion to outside orange banding. Another has a hairline crack from rim, approx. 2cm. Another has a slight abrasion inside. Coffee saucers: small firing bubbles and tiny abrasions, marks under, probably makers marks. Small dish (possibly for under jug): firing bubbles, marks under, probably makers marks. Coffee cups: very tiny firing bubbles, very small mark to bottom of outside of one. Bowl: series of 3 hairline loops just above foot.
A Staffordshire salt glazed stoneware "King of Prussia" teapot and cover, c.1760, length 19cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: Extensive restoration to the lid, restoration to the body, also there have been horizontal and vertical cracks which are clearly visible inside the teapot, one crack running right through the body vertically, another through the body horizontally, restoration to the spout.

CONDITION REPORT: Oval teapot has badly damaged lid and chips to spout. Shaped oval teapot has restored tip of spout. Two bowls with chips.

CONDITION REPORT: Tall glass vase rubbing to gilding in parts, otherwise good condition; height 45cm.
An 18th century Chinese porcelain teapot of globular form, painted in enamels with two opposing figural garden scenes within underglaze blue shaped border and floral spray decorated ground, with cover (finial af), length including spout and handle 20cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are minor nibbles and some firing imperfections to the rim of the spout, the finial has been broken off but present, and there are four hairline cracks to the glaze spreading from the centre of the lid. Minor surface wear and dirt.
