A Victorian squat teapot with hinged lid, open work scroll and floral rim, raised on four fluted turned feet. Height including handle measures 5 inches (12.5cm), weight 10.94ozt (340.4gms). Hallmarked William Hutton London 1900. The teapot is in good overall condition. There are surface scratches, scrapes, and patches of tarnish to the whole, along with some small dents and dints. The top lip of the spout is bent inwards, and there are some bends in the floral rim. The legs are scuffed and pitted, and they are slightly bent, meaning that the teapot stands a little unsteadily. There are some scuffs to the ebonised handle and finial, and a mark to the handle where the lid rests when open. The hinge of the lid is in working order but is a little loose. The lid fits well. The inside of the teapot is very tarnished. The hallmark is rubbed but clearly legible.

AN 18TH CENTURY PEARLWARE 'WEDDING' TEAPOT of globular form, the slightly domed cover with knopped finial, painted in underglaze blue, green and ochre, inscribed 'Benjaman & Jane Suttle 1797', within a rectangular panel decorated with corn flowers, verso with a spray of flowers, the cover and neck rim painted with a frieze of simple leaf forms, 16.5cms high (damage to neck, spout and cover).
