JAMES DIXON & SONS; a George V hallmarked silver four piece tea set comprising a rounded rectangular teapot with cast decorated rim, on four bun feet, with presentation inscription to one side, length 27cm, a coffee pot, a twin handled sugar bowl and a cream jug, each piece initialled WG, Sheffield 1913, approx 70.5ozt (4).
A George V Scottish hallmarked silver three piece tea set with band of stylised dragon and Celtic motifs, and engraved armorial, on spreading circular feet, retailed by Edward & Sons of Glasgow, Glasgow 1915, length of teapot 28cm, approx 42.9ozt. CONDITION REPORT: Teapot with a few dents, one approx 1cm long. Cream jug with areas of small dents, all pieces with surface wear commensurate with usage (scratches), no obvious damage or restoration.
EDWARD BARTON; a George IV hallmarked silver circular teapot of squat lobed form overall embossed with floral and foliate motifs, with two opposing vacant cartouches, leaf capped loop handle and cast flower and leaf finial, London 1826, length 26cm, approx 20.2ozt. CONDITION REPORT: Stable and flush to even surface, lid loose and misshapen, rises and falls with slight gaps to interior rind, some very small holes, dents, scratches and gouges.
CLARICE CLIFF; a Stamford 'Rhodanthe' pattern teapot, a conical bowl and a sugar bowl and cover, all with printed marks, height of teapot 14.8cm, diameter of bowl 11.5cm (3). CONDITION REPORT: Teapot with possible restoration to upper spout although could just be a pooling of glaze, crack to one section of inner 'filter', right hand front ridge indented from manufacture. Sugar bowl finial has possibly been off as heavy glue where joins lid, numerous hairlines to bowl body, otherwise general surface wear, losses to painted decoration and usual manufacturing imperfections.
A Royal Doulton 'Sarabande' pattern twelve setting dinner and tea set comprising cups and saucers, dessert bowls, dinner plates, salad plates, side plates, ten shallow soup bowls, a pair of tureens, set of three oval dishes, two piece cruet set, a teapot, a cream jug, a milk jug and a sucrier.
A set of six Royal Crown Derby Imari pattern no.2451 coffee cans with saucers, an oval teapot, a circular sugar bowl, two various trios and a pair of cups and saucers, three cups and saucers in pattern no.383, also two plates in various sizes and a pair of similarly decorated New Chelsea teacups and saucers, pattern no 4328. CONDITION REPORT: All no. 2451 and no. 383 pattern decorated items in generally good condition only with some rubbing to the gilt and surface dirt, some with scratches one of the larger plates with residue of sticker, the other with area of heavier scratching to the base, one coffee can has got a large hairline crack spreading from the rim, one of the New Chelsea cups with hairline spreading from the rim and fine crazing areas, all with surface wear.
A large collection of Noritake tea and coffee ware including floral decorated cups and saucers, pedestal teapots, pedestal jugs, twin handled sucrier and cover, etc. CONDITION REPORT: One of the tall white and blue floral coffee cups chipped to rim, teapot spout chipped to end, some pieces likely restored, rubbing to decoration to varying degrees throughout, some stained, some crazed, surface scratches and wear to varying degrees, usual manufacturing imperfections, some nibbles, surface abrasions, fritting etc, some loss to enamels. A George V silver three piece tea set by Edward Barnard & Sons, the teapot London 1934, jubilee marked, of compressed circular form, raised on a pedestal foot, the shallow flush fitting cover topped with a black fluted finial and bordered by a stylised twisted rope border, the black handle with applied silver terminals, the lower split into two with foliate ends, the matching milk jug and sugar bowl, both London 1922, with matching decorated borders, 25.6ozt gross (3) dent to sugar bowl and three dents to teapot
