This set was presented to Sir James Norval, Provost of Dunfermline and Chairman of the Carnegie Trust by Dunfermline Town Council in 1934 on the occasion of his Knighthood, as such each item is engraved with the Dunfermline Coat of Arms (4)

The cover is discoloured, the spout and handle appear OK. Two-handled sugar bow - two minor nibbles and chips to the inside of the lip. Throughout the pieces some of the gilding is a little bit worn. Large Limoges circular platter has been poorly restored with a 10cm affected area. Some minor chips on a few more pieces but otherwise in good overall general original condition.
