Ther French had five ships burnt and the rest drove onshore and disabled on their own coast off the Isle of Aix', together with other associated paperwork detailing descendants Sir Ralph Cochrane and Thomas Cochrane (image size 22cm x 29cm)

Teapot 27cm long, 27 troy ounces grossCONDITION REPORTMaker's mark to sugar bowl rubbed but legible. The marks otherwise clear. No personalised engraving. In generally very good, clean condition.
AN EDWARDIAN SILVER MARRIAGE POT POURRI, by William Comyns & Sons, London 1908, shaped oval form, the hinged and pierced cover embossed with the happy couple in a carriage being waved on their way. 8cm wide, 2 troy ouncesCONDITION REPORTMarks to the lid and the base clear and well struck. Hinge in good condition and the lid closes tightly. In generally good condition commensurate with age. All the marks matching. A lovely set of clear and well spaced marks to the underside of the teapot. The marks to the cream jug and sugar bowl are slightly rubbed but legible. Hinge to the teapot in good order and the lid closes well. The handle firm in the sockets. Each piece struck with additional marks to the foot rim which could be French taxation marks. Surface wear commensurate with age but generally in good condition.

Teapot 19cm long, 14.2 troy ouncesCONDITION REPORTThe marks are clear, well struck and well spaced to the underside of each. Ivory handle to the teapot firm in the sockets but with cracks due to dryness. The handle may have been repaired towards the bottom. The teapot rocks slightly. Hinge to the cover in good order. Cream jug and sugar bowl in good condition. A good quality service.
