CHRISTOPHER DRESSER (1834-1904) A SILVER PLATED CAMPAIGN/PICNIC TEA MAKING SET manufactured by Hukin and Heath, comprising; kettle with cover and bound straw heat protection handle, stamped with late 19th century date registration - "H and H" ref.no .2110 and text "designed by Dr C. Dresser" together with stand and spirit burner, teapot with cover, opening to reveal milk jug and sugar bowl within, both gilded interiors, contained within a lockable oak box, blue velvet lined, bearing label "Despr ez practical watch and clock maker, jeweller, silversmith and engraver, 30 Park St. Bristol", 30cm wide (Family provenance - belonged to the vendor's grandfather Admiral George Bowes Hutton (1867-1947) who joined naval school at 10 years old and ros e through the ranks, in the First World War he was Captain of HMS Diana)
Victorian silver teapot on stand of fluted oval form, the stand with burner, Sheffield 1895, 945g gross, 27cm high. CONDITION REPORT: Stand - good clean order, clear marks. Stands well on all four feet. teaport - clear marks '1898' and 'C' engraved to front, makers mark H.A. Generally good condition, some minor tarnished areas. Sits well on stand.
A Chinese polychrome teapot, three tea bowls and two larger bowls. Teapot length 17 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The teapot has two chips and restoration to the underside edge of the lid. The spout has been restored at the tip. The main body of the teapot is a little dirty. All tea bowls have hairline cracks and major repairs. One tea bowl has been fully restored hence the estimate.
An 18th century Worcester blue and white teapot, decorated with flowers and butterflies, marked "W" to base. Height 14 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are minor nibbles around the top edge of the bud on the lid. The underside rim of the lid also has very tiny nibbles but no significant issues. The tip of the spout has been restored and is discoloured. The handle has a hairline crack around the top section where it joins the body which extends into the body of the pot by approx 2.5 cm, the handle has not been detached. There is a very tiny old exterior edge chip to the top lip but no further issues.
A Minton Haddon Hall tea set, six cups, six saucers, six plates, sandwich tray, teapot, sugar basin and milk jug and with two tier cake stand (no supports). CONDITION REPORT: Three of the tea cups have blemishes to the Minton back stamp suggesting that they are seconds. Five of the six saucers have the same issue. One saucer has a firing fault to the underside running from the outside edge towards the centre approximately 5 cm in length. All the other items appear to be free from defects.
