Condition Report Some of the gilding is rubbed in places, particularly badly on the five small bowls and some of the tea cups. Generally most pieces are in good condition and there is very little in the way of damage. Slight rubbing to the top of the oval tureen lid. The teapot is in good condition.

Midwinter Fashion Shape half tea set of Zambesi pattern with red embellished rims on teapot, hot water jug, milk jug and cups comprising a teapot, hot water jug, sugar and milk, six cups and twelve saucers, twelve side plates, two cake plates and five egg cups. Condition Report All five egg cups are in good condition. The tea and coffee pot and slightly crazed and dirty in places, but generally good. Some pieces are slightly dirty, and many pieces are beginning to crack beneath the glaze. Some of the black stripes are slightly rubbed. A couple of very minor chips to the plates, but generally it is in fairly good order.

A Chinese silver Teapot, circa early-20thC, maker's mark for Luen Wo (Shanghai), of compressed globular form with bamboo-style handle and spout, the body chased all-round with birds amongst bamboo plants, engraved inscription "S.V.C. - Reserve Co. Dec. 1906. Chairman's Cup - Second Prize Won by Pte. Daldy", the cover with ball finial, 5in (12.5cm) high, approximate weight 16ozt. Note: "S.V.C." probably refers to the Shanghai Volunteer Corps. This was a multinational, mostly volunteer force controlled by the Shanghai Municipal Council which governed the Shanghai International Settlement. The SVC was in existence from 1853 to 1942.
