Age: 20 century Description: A yellowish tan Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot and lid. Bamboo-shaped with relief applied and carved bamboo leaves to the lid, as well as bamboo-shape handles and spout. Cursive calligraphic inscription with branches on one side and landscape with an inscription on verso. Base and inner lid both impressed with a 4 character seal type mark. Soft use-related surface patina overall. Size: 7", 17 cm. Provenance: From the Jennings Collection, Asheville, North Carolina. Acquired over a ten-year span. Condition: It has been examined carefully. There is stain residue of tea on the interior and exterior of the pot. The foot rim is in near perfect condition with very small flea bites on the inner edge. The handle and spout appear perfect without any notable chips or damage.
