A Royal Winton chintz pattern breakfast tray, the hexagonal plate with teapot, sugar bowl, milk jug, tea cup and toast rack, printed factory marks to base, 26 cm diameterSlight discolouration to the inner lid and spout of the teapot. Light scratches to the surfaces. Rubbing to the gilt, rubbing to the decoration around the milk jug handle. Rubbing to the bases of items. Light crackling to the glaze of the plate. Age: 20 century Description: A yellowish tan Chinese Yixing stoneware teapot and lid. Bamboo-shaped with relief applied and carved bamboo leaves to the lid, as well as bamboo-shape handles and spout. Cursive calligraphic inscription with branches on one side and landscape with an inscription on verso. Base and inner lid both impressed with a 4 character seal type mark. Soft use-related surface patina overall. Size: 7", 17 cm. Provenance: From the Jennings Collection, Asheville, North Carolina. Acquired over a ten-year span. Condition: It has been examined carefully. There is stain residue of tea on the interior and exterior of the pot. The foot rim is in near perfect condition with very small flea bites on the inner edge. The handle and spout appear perfect without any notable chips or damage. Decorated with incised bamboo branch and leaves on one side and a calligraphic inscription on verso. Impressed 4 character seal type mark on concave base. Seal type mark on the interior of the lid. Size: 7", 17.8 cm. Provenance: From the Jennings Collection, Asheville, North Carolina. Acquired over a ten-year span. Condition: Some staining and discoloration to the exterior from tea use. Handle appears to be in good condition undamaged. Spout also appears to be undamaged and in good condition.
