A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.Height: 8 3/4 in x Diameter: 7 1/2 in.Condition: There are no visible chips, cracks, losses, or restorations. Wear to the wooden handle consistent with age and use. Very light wear to foot rim, lid and top rim. Stickers affixed to the interior of the lid.
