An early 18th Century walnut chest, the quartered and cross banded top with moulded edge over two short and three long graduated drawers each boxwood strung with circular medallion decoration and brass foliate drop handles raised on bracket feet 99.5 cm wide x 56.5 cm deep x 95 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whilst basically sound throughout, there are signs of wear and tear conducive with age and use again throughout. The top has basically good colour though some insets to the veneers, damage and dirt in several areas, all arguably requiring attention. There are some areas of loose veneer, cracking and splitting throughout. The handles, whilst having the appearance of orginality, are later with evidence of at least two other pairs of handles previously. Again drawer fronts basically good colour though with areas of splitting, filling etc (see images for further detail). Drawer liners with some splitting and taping in several areas. Feet appear to be original, if not, at least early. Side panels with some splitting and loss (again see images) to both sides. Back panels again appear original (see images for further detail)
