Clock winds but does not run for more than a few seconds. Repeater not functioning. Case fair with some minor cosmetic marks and blemishes and general signs of age and use. No key for back or front doors. dial fair with overall cracklure and some wear around the winding holes.

A George III oak and mahogany brass dial longcase clock, Joseph Brown of Worcester, the hood with swan neck pediment and plain door flanked by turned columns, the boxwood strung trunk with shaped cross-banded door above a cross-banded base box raised on slender bracket feet, the 11 7/8" brass dial with moulded spandrels and silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, the four-pillar movement striking on a bell, with weights, pendulum and winder, 38cm wide x 22cm deep x 204cm high.Condition report: Movement winds, runs and strikes and appears in good general order. Hood lacking centre finial. Small repairs to hood door veneer - not disfiguring. Dial good with only negligible signs of age and use. Trunk and base box appear good, clean and original with only very minor shrinkage at panel joints. Decorative panel beneath trunk door is slightly warped inwards at one corner with an associated loss to the rosewood stringing.
