A Welsh oak duodarn, circa 1800, the moulded cornice above three recessed fielded panel doors above three short drawers and two three-panelled doors, on bracket feet, 198cm x 150cm/Provenance: Auction at The Black Barn, Charlton Kings, 5 August 1975, Lot 48/see illustration Condition Report: Top interior cupboard with later shelves and shelf supports. Low tier top external shelf with ring marks and stains which are acceptable with age. Left hand drawer later cutlery division. Paint stains to lower cupboard interior. Good colour and polished brass furnishings. Scratches and imperfections acceptable with age.

Replaced handles, poor veneer restoration to drawer fronts.

The top has some small splits, abrasions and signs of some small replacements to the veneers. The feet are later. A narrow mahogany bookcase, the upper section enclosed by a glazed door, the lower section fitted four drawers on bracket feet, 44cm wide Condition Report: The drawer base has a split to the right hand side and the top is scratched and pitted, some drawer front moulding is split and missing, third drawer split at base, left hand end of bookcase is split, it is fitted two adjustable shelves and the doors are complete with original intact glass, the central finial is missing and there is no key.

A FRENCH NAPOLEAN III GILT BRONZE DESK STAND, by Ferdinand Barbedienne, Paris, c.1870, the quatrefoil stand surmounted with a bust of Napolean I, the surface decorated in bas relief with figures and animals and other motifs in the Grecian style, fitted with two large bulbous oval inkwells with blue glass liners and another inkwell, the entire raised on scroll bracket legs and paw feet, 49 x 30 x 30cm high; together with a matching paper knife in the form of a Greek sword, 33 cm long. Stamped F. Barbedienne, FONDEUR, the paper knife also signed F. Levillian.
