CONDITION REPORT: Approx 140g. At the time of cataloguing, the watch appears to be in going order, however this is no guarantee of working order. The face doesn't appear to have any obvious scratches or damage. The case itself under magnification, will have some scratches, but no obvious repairs or damage.The inner dust cover is marked 14ct.

A George III mahogany chest of drawers, two short and three long with wooden knob handles and cockbeading to each drawer front and raised on bracket feet. Height 94.5 cm, width 109 cm, depth 52 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chest is structurally sound. The top has some minor veneer losses to the rear corners and further minor stress fractures to the veneers. There are also some watermarks. The top is however not significantly split and is flat. The moulded edge is in generally good order all round with a small loss on the rear left-hand corner. The drawer fronts are all in generally good condition and well figured. All locks where fitted are present. We have no keys. They are not locked. The top left-hand handle has a loss to the rear turning. The sides are in generally good condition. The backboards are original as are the bracket feet which again only have minor nibbles to the veneers. The rear right-hand foot has a larger outer edge loss to the veneer but this does not affect stability.

Lot 1184

A Georgian mahogany musical longcase clock by Ferguson of Dundee, playing six tunes on nine bells, the three train movement also striking, the case with well figured trunk door flanked by canted angles and with conforming base. Height 220 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The hand to select the tunes is missing. The tunes are - Masons Song, Balance a Straw, God Save The King, A Cotillion, Lovely Nancy and Corn Rigs. We have the weights and pendulum. The movement winds on all three trains. We have had the mechanism ticking but not striking or playing the tunes. The case is in reasonably good condition with no major issues. The hood is in good order all round with only minor stress fractures to the mahogany in places. The door is not warped. The long trunk door is well figured. It is very slightly warped when closed at the top left-hand corner. The lock plate is present as is the rear of the lock (which is detached). We have no key. There is a small piece of moulding to the left of the lock escutcheon which is detached. We have the piece. The sides of the trunk are in generally good condition. The base has stress fractures to the veneers on the front panel. The bracket feet are all present and in good order. The backboard has some minor traces of what appears to be old long gone woodworm. The seat board to the movement is not original and it is possible that the cheeks on which it rests have been cut down. With the door open it is possible to read the tune plate and the mask around the dial does fit fairly well. It is when the door is closed that the tune plate is not fully visible. Lot 1249

An 18th century walnut chest of drawers, with slide above four graduated drawers with brass drop handles and shaped backplates and brass lock escutcheons and raised on bracket feet. Height 82 cm, width 76 cm, depth 40 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chest of drawers is in extremely good condition and could be used in its present state without the need for any work. The top is of good colour and not warped. The slide operates as it should and the green baize surface is clean. All drawer fronts are in good condition. The handles are probably original. The locks are all present, we have no keys. The lock escutcheons are probably later. If the handles are not original, they go through the original handle holes. The drawers all run smoothly. The drawer linings are oak. The bracket feet are in good condition all around and the piece is structurally very sound.

A late 19th/early 20th century continental miniature chest of six drawers with gilt brass mounts, canted angles and raised on bracket feet. Height 66 cm, width 39 cm, depth 21 cm (see illustration).

Lot 1210

A George III tall oak chest of drawers, two short and five long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front and raised on bracket feet. Height 134 cm, width 108 cm, depth 53 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top is constructed from three planks. There are shrinkage gaps between the planks. There is also some evidence of old what appears to be long gone woodworm. The edge moulding is in good condition all round. The sides of the piece are also made from two planks, there is a shrinkage gap between each plank. Again there is no movement. The drawer fronts are all in generally good order with only minor losses to the cockbeading on long drawer three. The handles would appear to be original as are the lock escutcheons. All locks where fitted are present. We do not have a key. There are no locked drawers. Long drawer two has a section of cockbeading missing on the right-hand side. There are small traces of what appears to be long gone woodworm to some of the drawer fronts and the drawer runners. The bracket feet are in generally good order with only minor marks as one would expect. The backboards are original.

A George III mahogany longcase clock, with arched painted dial decorated with figures emblematic of the four seasons and with eight day striking movement with long trunk door and raised on bracket feet. Height 231 cm.

A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, by James Monkhouse of Carlisle, with 30 hour movement and moonphase, the case with long trunk door flanked by quarter column corners and raised on bracket feet. Height 218 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The 30 hour movement is complete with weight and pendulum. It appears to be ticking away and striking when advanced. The hood door glass is broken. The door is however not warped. There has been a repair to the left-hand swans neck. There are minor nibbles to the extremities of the hood and shrinkage to some joints. The main trunk door is not significantly warped and closes as it should. The sides of the trunk are in good condition. The base is all original. Again there is a stress fracture down the centre join. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.

A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded bureau bookcase, with detachable moulded dentil cornice above a pair of panelled doors with applied swags opening to shelves and drawers, the base with slope front and series of graduated drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and raised on bracket feet. Height 222 cm, width 109 cm, depth 52 cm (see illustration).

Lot 1262

A George III oak and inlaid longcase clock by Henry Wade London, with two train striking movement, the case with long arched trunk door flanked by fluted quarter column corners with brass capitals and all raised on bracket feet. Height including finial 224 cm, width across hood base 45 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock winds on both trains and is currently ticking away and striking in the saleroom. The movement and dial have clearly been fairly recently restored and are in extremely good order. The case is in extremely good condition also with no issues of any note.

An 18th century walnut bureau, well figured, the slope front opening to a fitted interior and with four graduated drawers with brass drop handles and moulded drawer fronts and all raised on bracket feet. Height 101 cm, width 78 cm, depth 50 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bureau is in generally good condition. It has clearly been repolished, probably 20 years ago or so. The top is in generally good condition with some minor veneer repairs. The flap has slight stress fractures to these veneers particularly on the left-hand side of the burr section. The flap is flat and not warped. The lock appears to be original. We have the key. The hinges if not original are clearly old. The interior is in good order with no significant issues. There are the usual surface marks and stains and ink marks as one would expect. The drawer fronts are in generally good condition. The handles and lock escutcheons are later. They do to a large extent go through the original handle holes however. The top three drawers have locks. We have no keys. The bottom drawer lock is missing. The left-hand side has a stress fracture to the carcass. The right-hand side has a similar stress fracture but this is more prominent, the gap being +/- 1 mm. This corresponds with a plank join. The bracket feet are in generally good order all round. The backboards are original

Lot 374

A 19th century boulle marquetry clock bracket, with applied metal mounts. Height +/- 32 cm, width 53 cm, depth 22 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bracket is in generally good condition with no major problems. The black painted top has numerous scuffs and scratches and four carved indentations presumably to hold the feet of a clock. The Boulle marquetry to the front is principally intact with only very minor lifting and no losses of any significance. The left-hand side is also in generally good order with minor lifting of the brass and very small losses to the tortoiseshell. There are some old repairs. The right-hand side is in similar condition. There are some areas which are lifting slightly more than the left-hand side but again no significant losses.

The first long drawer has some minor damage to the right-hand corner of the cockbeading. All handles are original. The bracket feet are in good condition all round with only minor scratches and marks as one would expect.

Height 197 cm, width 52.5 cm at cornice, width at trunk 31 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement is complete with weight and pendulum and is currently ticking away in the saleroom. The case is in generally very good condition with no issues. The case is a very good colour. The doors are not warped. It is an attractive clock.
