Of oval form, with scroll floral border, pierced and with each side repousse decorated with scrolling motifs, raised on four pierced bracket feet decorated with floral motifs, 19cm wide.The basket together with: a pair of Old Sheffield plate bottle coasters, of circular form, with scalloped rims and grapevine motifs applied along the borders, the circular cartouches with lion crest and motto Aequanimiter to centre, 19.5cm dia.; a 20th century silver Mexican dish, by Alfredo Ortega, of triangular form, with 1908 Mexican silver peso coin inset to base, 13.9cm wide; a small American swing-handled silver sugar basket, Shreve, Crump & Low, stamped STERLING, pierced and with punched rim, raised on a spreading oval base, 9.8cm wide; and a further bottle coaster, apparently unmarked, pierced and with cartouche with engraved initials, 14.3cm dia., total weighable silver approx. 12.5ozt (6)Footnotes: The motto Aequanimiter (Even minded) was used by Harbord Harbord, 1st Baron Suffield (1734 – 1810). The group comprising: a Victorian hot water pot, Birmingham, 1898, Thomas Hayes, of baluster form and raised on four foliate bracket feet, the lower body with lobed design and engraved initials, foliate finial to the hinged cover and ebonised scrolling handle, 20cm high (inc. handle); a further hot water pot, Birmingham, 1928, Asprey & Co., of baluster form and raised on a stepped circular foot, scrolling wooden handle and wooden finial to the hinged cover, 21cm high; a pair of candlesticks, Sheffield, 1927, William Hutton & Sons, with knopped stems to stepped shaped bases, filled, 18.5cm high; and a sugar caster, Birmingham, 1929, Adie Brothers, of baluster form and raised on a stepped circular foot, with knopped finial to cover, 19.5cm high, total weighable silver approx. 29.9ozt (5) Condition Report: The candlesticks are not included in the weighable silver.

A George II oak chest of drawers, the slightly oversailing top above an arrangement of two short and three long graduated and lip moulded oak lined drawers, applied with later associated brass back plates and swing handles, upon bracket feet, 83cm H x 95cm W x 54cm DCondition reportGeneral ring marks, stains and wear to the chest top commensurate with age and use.Top drawers are missing locks, all drawers run smoothly.Later blocks added to the feet underside.Overall the chest appears to be structurally sound although it has undergone a degree of sympathetic restoration.
An early George III oak cased thirty hour longcase clock, signed John Roberts, Wrexham, circa 1770, the flat top hood with a moulded cornice and tapering pillars flanking the 28cm square brass dial, applied with Roman and Arabic numerals, centred with a date crescent and signed with the makers name, the thirty hour movement striking on a saucer bell, above the plain case and lower board, upon a plinth base with integral bracket feet, 200cm high, weight and pendulumCondition reportCheek pieces are later along with side extensions to the backboard indicating that the movement/dial are possibly a marriage to the case.Movement looks well maintained however remains un-tested.Very minor evidence of historic worm to the hood.Otherwise the case appears to be in good condition with no obvious faults or damage.
A set of six 19th Century Mintons China Works, Stoke on Trent 6 inch dust pressed tiles, Animals of the Farm, pattern 1699, designed by William Wise, chestnut brown transfer printed on white, including Horse and Foal, Bull and Cows, Stag and Deer, also Cattle Watering in wooden frame on four pewter bracket feet. A collection of assorted 20th Century 6 inch dust pressed tiles, to include two H & R Johnson Ltd tiles, both printed and painted with stylised decoration, the first depicting a hare under moonlight, the second a hedgehog, stamped Bader Pottery Oxon, a Dunsmore painted on Minton tile stylised fish, a Richards Tile with stylised hand painted stags and a Hereford Tiles example with hand painted ram in a roundel with corner bracket decoration in blue over white. A diamond solitaire ring, the old brilliant cut stone claw set in a yellow and white metal mount ring size P, four old cut diamonds set into each shoulder, the shank bearing a rubbed Victorian hallmark, dimensions of major diamond 7x5mm, approximate weight 1.50 carats, 3.2g, vintage ring box A V J Smith, Aberdeen.Condition report:Please see further images uploaded to our website.We do not have a certificate to grade the diamonds, in our opinion the colour would fall into the bracket of K-M, clarity, I1-I2, there are some nibbles to the girdle.
A ruby and diamond oval cluster ring, an oval mixed cut ruby, 7.8x5.8mm, claw set and surrounded by ten brilliant cut diamonds in a yellow and white metal oval cluster mount ring size K, shank marked 18ct, L.E.B.&S., overall size of cluster 17mmx13.5mm, 5.3g.Condition report:Please see further images uploaded to our website.We do not have a gem lad certificate to grade the stones, in our opinion the Colour of the diamonds would fall in the bracket J-L, Clarity varies between the stones from SI to II1, there are no chips to the diamonds.The ruby does have rubbed facet images (see image).The claw settings appear all good, minor surface scratches to shank which is still a good gauge.
A ruby and diamond three stone ring, an oval mixed cut ruby, 7.8x5.6x4.4mm, with one modern brilliant cut diamond to each side claw set in an all white metal mount ring size O, dimensions of diamonds 6x3.6mm, 6.2x3.6mm, total weight approximately 1.70 carats, 5.4g.Condition report:Please see further images uploaded to our website.We do not have a gem lad certificate to grade the stones, in our opinion the Colour of the diamonds would fall in the bracket K-M, Clarity VVS1-VVS2, there are no chips to the diamonds.The ruby does have rubbed facet images (see image).The claw settings appear all good, some surface scratches to shank, underbezel all good.
A solitaire diamond pendant and chain, the brilliant cut stone six claw set in an 18 carat yellow gold mount on an 18 carat yellow gold fine filed curb link chain 45cm long, 3.5g, diameter of diamond 4.3mm.Condition report:We do not have master stones to grade diamonds but on our opinion this stone falls into the Clarity bracket VS2 / SI1 and Colour bracket N to P.
A diamond six stone boat shape cluster ring, the old cut stones collet set in a yellow and white metal mount ring size L, shank marked 18ct Plat, 2.2g.Condition report:Please see further images uploaded to our website. The stones are bright.We do not have a certificate to grade the diamonds, in our opinion the colour would fall into the bracket K-M, clarity VS1-VS2.condition of mount quite good with still a good gauge shank, slight irregularity to collets.

A GEORGE II MAHOGANY BUREAU BOOKCASE CIRCA 1750 The upper section with a re-entrant mirror inset cupboard door opening to adjustable shelves, the base with a fall opening to an arrangement of drawers and pigeon holes, above four graduated drawers 188cm high, 61cm wide, 48cm deep Provenance: Purchased by Sir Harry Hague from Mallet & Son, New Bond Street, London in 1945 Exhibited by Dreweatt Neate, Hidden Treasures, A Loan Exhibition, 25th November - 2nd December 1997, item number 16 Condition Report: Overall there are some scratches, marks, chips, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use.There are some losses and replacements including veneers, later screws fixing the top to the base, bracket feet supports and blocks, hinge area.The mirror plate has foxing to the silvering. The plate is of some age and is not a new replacement, but could be later than the 18th century. There are multiple holes to the wood mirror backing.The locks are later, there is one key.There is no key to the lock of the fall.
