Lot 27

A large late 19c English chiming bracket clock retailed by the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, London. The chain driven triple fusee movement quarter chimes a choice of Westminster, Whittington or St Michael`s chimes on seven gongs and hour strikes on an eighth. The arched brass dial has a silver chapter ring and subsidiary rings for chime/silent, pendulum regulation and chime selection. It is contained in an ebonised round topped case set with cast gilt mounts, fret, handles, side frets and surmounted by five gilt pineapples. The clock stands 24"" tall overall.

Lot 34

A late 19c German bracket clock with bevelled spring ting tang movement by Winterhalder & Hoffmeier chiming on two gongs. The arched brass dial has silver chapter ring and subsidiary dials for pendulum regulation and chime/silent. It is contained in an oak round topped case set with bronze mounts, feet, side frets and finials and surrounded by a bronze figure of Perseus, the clock stands 22"" tall.

Lot 35

An early 19c double fusee bracket clock by Bryson of Edinburgh, the 8""diam silvered dial having Roman numerals and matched steel hands and the five pillar movement rack striking on a bell. It is contained in a round topped mahogany case with brass carrying handle, fish scale frets, brass ball feet and brass framed inset quarter panels below the dial, the clock stands 18.5"" tall with handle raised.

Lot 42

An early 19c eight day longcase clock, the 13"" arched painted dial signed Grove of Upton and having indications of the Welsh, Scots, English and Irish in the corners and a picture of the Duke of Wellington in the arch. The dial has Arabic numerals, date and seconds indicators and matched brass hands. The standard movement has anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell and is contained in an oak and mahogany case with swan neck pediments to the hood with a central ball and eagle finial and fluted columns flanking the dial. The trunk has fluted quarter columns and the rectangular trunk door has a central diamond shaped inlay and a band of edge stringing, the base has similar stringing, bracket feet and a wavy base, 90"" tall overall.

An early 19th century mahogany chest of two long and one short drawer over two banks of two drawers on ogee bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Approx. 171 cm long x 57 cm deep x 108 cm high. Back is probably a later addition. Top is split approx. two thirds in for the entire length of the chest, ring marks to top (see photos), there is a piece of repair to the back left-hand corner where it has been broken and re-glued, left-hand side has water marks running down, all drawers have areas of patching to corners and edging and also water marks, locks are replacements and are cut in from the drawer linings (see photo), central foot has been broken and shortened to the left-hand side, has general wear, scratches, knocks, bumps and bruises all over conducive with age and use.
