A Fine 18th Century Bracket Clock by Josephus Pryor. The brass dial having an inset silvered roundel to the arch finely engraved with an armorial crest and flanked by scrolling winged dolphin mounts with decoratively cast sphinx spandrels adorning the corners. The chapter ring encircling a matted centre incorporating a calendar aperture . The twin fusée movement with verge escapement striking two bells and having an ornately engraved back plate with scrolling flowers and a draped banner inscribed Josephus Pryor Fecit. The walnut case enriched with carved & gilded embellishments; the cavetto moulded dome top surmounted by a Rococo cartouche and trailing foliage; the canted sides headed by shell crests festooned in pendant garlands; the base adorned with scrolling husk flowers and raised on turned & ebonised feet 20½ ins (52 cms) in height.
