Goode, London", the case surmounted by a gilt carrying handle and domed top, the sides with glazed fretwork panels, 18th century, 18" high x 11" wide. See illustration Charles Goode was made Free of the Clockmakers Company in 1686 with workshops in the Strand employing a number of apprentices. Similarities between his work and that of George Graham and Daniel Quare have been noted, with some considering him one of the great underrated makers of his age.Please note it has been suggested that the timber may be another exotic wood
