A William and Mary walnut chest of three long and two short drawers, having a quarter veneered top inlaid herringbone, raised on ogee bracket feet of later date, 95cm wide/see illustration Condition Report: The handles on this chest are not original, the drawers run quite smoothly. The top with cracks to veneer caused by warping of the carcass , cross banding to the top replaced, some minor damage to feather banding and two small patches to centre right of top. Drawer fronts with minor replacements and chips, half-round moulding to carcass with losses and replacements, base moulding replaced left side and left front corner. Feet replaced, crack to both sides due to shrinkage. Overall the colour and patina are not too bad, needs gentle restoration.
