dating: First half of the 19th Century provenance: Turkey, Smooth-bore, two-stage, 16 mm cal. barrel, octagonal, engraved first part, with a barely visible mark on the left side; silver-plated tang; flintlock, finely engraved with floral motifs; wooden, full stock, slightly engraved, the butt completely covered with silver foil, decorated with filigree, the butt-plate decorated with floral motifs in high-relief, the back with cabochon stones and three, nielloed lozenges. Long, silver, embossed barrel bracket with false ramrod. Scarce. length 47 cm.

An early Victorian mahogany bow front chest, the plain top above two short and two long drawers with turned knob handles raised on splayed bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Numerous areas of fading and discolouration. Areas of staining, numerous surface scratches and gouges, dents and chips to the top and the sides. There are some splits to the veneer to the front and the back of the top which appear to have been repaired and piueces inserted. The front has losses to the wood, to the edge of the drawers there are numerous scratches, some splits in the veneer and some old repairs. There is a loss at the bottom front and loss of veneer. Both of the front legs are cracked and show signs of old repair. The back left foot appears to have at one time come completely off and shows signs of an old repair also. Early 19th century mahogany sarcophagus shaped wine cooler, hinged lid, lead lined interior, sides with applied moulding, bracket feet, replacement modern castors, width 81cm (32), depth 53cm (21), height 57cm (22). Condition report: Top sun stained, two small areas with veneer lifting, lock missing, original castors replaced with pressed metal and plastic wheels. 19th century mahogany cased longcase clock by J Turner, London, the arched moulded cornice mounted by brass finial, enamelled circular dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary date and seconds dial over brass fretwork, chamfered trunk, stepped panelled base, shaped apron raised on bracket feet, anchor escapement,striking bell and silence. CONDITION REPORT: Door slightly warped. Dial has losses and scuffed areas, see images. Base 51cm wide. The dial is flat. Hood is 44cm wide. Pendulum and brass cased weights present. The base has a double plinth.
A grand piano by Broadwood, London, circa 1827 The figured mahogany case with cylinder front between carved bracket cheeks, raised on four turned legs. The interior of the rosewood veneered fall board decorated with floral brass inlay and bearing a boxwood plaque inscribed: Patent, John Broadwood & Sons, Makers to His Majesty & the Princesses, Great Pulteney Street, Golden Square, London. Six and a half octave keyboard CC-f4 with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals. English grand action. Two pedals, mounted on a lyre, controlling dampers and keyboard shift. The Patent on the nameboard refers to Patent No. 5485 registered by Broadwood on April 9th 1827. This instrument is constructed with the brass "string plate" and four iron bars of this patent. Serial number 11301 Length 250cm, width 125cm, case height including lid and leg blocks 39cm. Literature: The Colt Clavier Collection Golden Jubilee 1944-1981, recent additions, (55) G301B. Provenance: Entries for this piano have been found in the Broadwood Archive held at the Surrey History Centre: Sent out (on hire) 13th September 1827 and eventually sold 27th August 1835 to Mr. Webster. Purchased by Colt at Sotheby's 7th April 1982.
A grand piano by Broadwood, London, 1846 The rosewood case with piecrust moulding around the perimeter of the lid and carved bracket cheeks, raised on three hexagonal legs with acanthus cappings. The interior of the rosewood folding fall board bearing a paper label inscribed: Patent Repetition Grand Pianoforte, John Broadwood & Sons, Makers to Her Majesty, 33 Great Pulteney Street, Golden Square, London. Six octave and seven note keyboard CC-g4 with ivory naturals and ebony accidentals. Patent repetition grand action. Two lyre mounted pedals controlling dampers and keyboard shift. Frame with six metal bars and decorated metal hitch-plate. Serial number 16682 Length 246cm, width 132cm, case height including lid and leg blocks 40.5cm. Provenance: Multiple entries for this piano have been found in Broadwood Porters' books held at the Surrey History Centre: First sold 3rd November 1846 to Miss Foster. The second owner, Mrs. Merest, owned it through many house moves from 29th July 1847 to 12th May 1875. From the latter date Broadwoods stored it until it was released by her executors on 22nd May 1890 and sold again.
