The plate has some age but is probably not original, the rear boards look old and have some webbing repairs to the joinsSome warping to the cresting element of the frame, also splits and cracks and signs of repairs in these areas, some later supporting blocks to the rear There are two eyelets where this has been wired/strung previously, there is also an old metal bracket to the top rail of the back, this may have been for hanging or to previously support a further cresting elementPlease refer to additional images for visual reference to conditionCondition Report Disclaimer

The piecrust top is detached from the birdcage at time of report, one of the supporting rails is loose to the underside of the top so not holding on the 'hinge' at time of report it was balanced to take the catalogue image. The peg to secure the birdcage to the stem appears to be later associated There are signs of filled screw hole fixings to the centre of the underside of the top suggesting that this table top was possibly not originally on this base. The turned upper section of the column has a join with the leaf carved lower section of the column suggesting that the upper section is later. The locking mechanism appears to be the originalOld splits and cracks, some chips and losses, one lower leg has an old split and repair including a filleted piece of timber, the colour is good here and well disguised. This is solid and stable overall - there is also a later metal bracket to the underside of the leg where it meets Condition Report Disclaimer
