Robert Best of London ebonised balloon bracket clock, circa 1800, having a signed silvered dial, subsidiary hours dial and date dial, twin winding holes for a brass eight day gut driven fusee movement with anchor escapement and striking on a bell, the backplate finely engraved with fruit and flowers amidst scroll leaves and foliage, the case with applied brass carry handles, cherub mask plaque, and on scroll bracket feet, h.55cm Condition Report / Extra Information Fully running with hammer strike. Dial width 7”. Appears all original. Dial good but with some light surface scratches. Shrinkage split to moulding beneath dial. Metalwork tarnished. Movement fully working. Some minor losses and scuffs to back, with age wear.

Edward Clark of London early George III ebonised bracket clock, having a signed silvered dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, date aperture and mock pendulum aperture, twin winding holes for a five pillar bell striking and repeating fusee movement with verge escapement, the backplate engraved with leaf scrolls around a chinoisserie pavilion, the brass bound bell-top case with carry handle, fishscale side frets, leaf door frets, and raised on brass ogee bracket feet, h.42.5cm (handle down) Note: This style of case is usually associated with Ellicott and was introduced soon after the middle of the 18th century Condition Report / Extra Information Fully working including strike and pull repeat. Dial good. Glass to inside of door showing plaster, probably later. Case good. Brass good, probably re-polished at some point. Ebony veneers good with minor age wear only. Provenance - private sale due to downsizing, purchased from Sotheby's approx. 20 years ago for £5000 hammer.

John Knibb of Oxford ebonised cased basket topped bracket clock, circa 1685 but with later additions, the associated 8" square brass dial signed John Knibb Oxon Fecit and having cherub mask spandrels, silver chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, engraved centre, pierced blue steel hands, twin winding holes for an eight day six pillar verge fusee movement, having outside countwheel and striking on a bell, the backplate engraved with trailing flowers and a fish, signed John Knibb Oxonia Fecito, the case probably associated and with gilt metal mounts, fixed brass carry handle, and raised on bun feet, gross h.44cm, w.30.5cm Condition Report / Extra Information Dial and case probably associated. In running order. With winding key. Finials and feet probably replacement. Metal mounts all with restored appearance. Movement with two unexplained holes to backplate. Bell probably replacement. Case good with light age wear.

An early 18th century figured walnut and crossbanded chest-on-chest, the whole with feather banding, brass batwing escutcheons, and raised on bracket feet, h.177cm, w.104cm, d.57cm Condition Report / Extra Information Sides good. No woodworm. Stands well. Upper left drawer to base with losses to veneer top and bottom left corners, and beading missing from to side and bottom left corner. Upper left drawer to top with creases and splits to veneers. Handles appear period but one is old replacement. Colour good. Second bottom drawer to top with flaws upper right corner. Both sides of cornice replacement and newly polished over.
