A 19th century bracket clock, by Lewis of Chichester, with domed mahogany and satinwood veneered case, fruitwood inlaid with foliate decoration, cast gilt pine cone finials, pierced fretwork sides and back, the hinged glazed front door, with key, opening to reveal the silvered chapter ring dial with engraved black Roman numerals, floral motif half-hour markers, outside minute band with Arabic five-minutes markers, set around a matte gold centre, appended silvered maker's plaque, and surrounded by applied gilt foliate decoration to the spandrels and the arch, two subsidiary dials to the arch for Chime/Silent and Chime of Eight Bells/Chime on Four Gongs, 8-day fusee movement chiming the hours, the half-hours, and the quarter-hours on a eight bells with a musical chime or on four gongs with a Westminster chime, on brass ogee bracket feet with concealed threaded height / level adjusters, dial 12.5cm (5"), case 18.5 by 26.5 by 41.5cm high.Notes: in good working condition, winds and hands set well, keeps time across 1hr test, all chiming functions seem to work well, however Batemans cannot guarantee its continued operation.
