An early 19th Century oak cupboard, the upper section with moulded cornice over two twin panelled doors enclosing a hanging space over three small dummy drawers, two short and one long drawer, raised on bracket feet, 128 cm wide x 194.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Wear, scuffs, some chips and scratches. Some old worn holes and areas of worm damage. Some splits and repairs. Doors appear to be locked and there is no key. Bottom drawer opens. At least one drawer-runner is missing, and others appear to require attention. None of the top drawers open - they are currently stuck shut (we are not sure if this is due to gluing or whether the frame may have warped/shrunk). Some other drawers also stuck shut. Handles are later replacements. Overall appearance is fairly tidy and colour quite good, although will need some work to get drawers and doors in 'operational' order.
An early 18th Century walnut chest on chest, the upper section with two short feather banded drawers over three long graduated drawers and brushing slide flanked by fluted canted side pilasters on a base of two short and two long graduated drawers to bracket feet, 102 cm wide x 162.3 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Has wear, knocks, bruises, dents, scratches, etc conducive with age and use. The top left hand side cornice is very loose and has a large 2 cm long chunk missing. The corner piece is missing (see photo). There is a large chunk of veneer approx 7 cm long missing from the front to the left of centre. There is another section of cornice missing in the right hand side corner and the back right hand side cornice is off and has splits to the veneer (see photo). The left hand side panel has a split going right down the centre and a small section of old worm holes on the same line, together with various splits with the nature of the wood. The front drawers have been patched and have had some water / damp damage. Replacement handles. The drawer liners are split. The brushing slide leather is cracked and the board underneath the left hand side bottom corner of the upper section has been damaged and repaired and is crumbling. There are signs of old worm damage in the bottom lip of the upper chest. The right hand side of the chest has a large split running centrally together with other splits along the wood grain, etc and a further split at the base approximately 10 cm up running the depth of the chest, together with two large further splits. There are splits to the base section and black marks to the veneer on the apron. The left hand side is missing several large sections of veneer to the back left hand corner. There are splits along the grain of the wood and there is evidence of water damage and white marks on the bracket base. The drawers have been patched. Replacement handles. Drawer liners have split. Again damage from water and damp. There is a 7cm piece of veneer missing from the left hand edge by the middle drawer. The bracket feet have some signs of old worm damage. The left hand side is very discoloured - has several large splits dividing the face into seven panels and is patched. Has dark stains. The bracket base is bashed.
A 19th Century oak cofferbach, the single plank hinged top over a twin panelled front and single panelled sides, on a base of two short drawers, on bracket feet, 66.5 cm wide CONDITION REPORTS The top is loose. Discoloured water mark, chips and knocks. The edges have several larger knocks - see photos. The brass escutcheon is broken. The front is split the full length of the panel - almost half way along and has many large scratches. Both sides are split and have had repairs inside (see images). The base is bleached and knocked / bruised. Both drawers are water marked and the joint on the right hand side above the drawer has a gap (see image). The right hand side bracket base has a split in the top left hand corner approximately 3" long, together with other small splits, dents, etc. The left hand side has various knocks, etc. The left hand side main section has a large chunk out of the back approximately 2" square (see images). The base board is split in two places. The top has no hinges (see images).
An 18th Century walnut cabinet on chest, the upper section with moulded cornice above a cushion frieze and two astragal glazed cupboard doors enclosing a velvet lined two shelf interior on a base of four long graduated drawers with brass swan neck handles on ogee bracket feet, 103 cm wide x 180.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear, scuffs. Cracking, splits, chips and losses. Quite a few areas of moulding missing. Various alterations and repairs. Interior of top section is covered in a velvet fabric and shelves appear slightly warped. Some old woodworm holes.
A small 17th / 18th Century walnut drop-leaf occasional table, the oval top over a frieze drawer with brass pear drop handle, on turned and block legs united by stretchers, 66 cm x 87 cm fully extended CONDITION REPORTS Old woodworm holes throughout. Various splits, repairs and some replacement sections. Top with warping, very stained, various fillered holes and splits, losses and chips, plus a replacement section to one leaf and a small replacement section to other leaf (please see photos). Legs with various splits, chips, losses and old repairs including a T-shaped metal bracket. Some parts of legs and stretchers and base are less worn / damaged than others, so there may be some old but later replacements. Some added sections to base of feet.
