Condition In good restored condition, the silvered dial has a patched mock pendulum hole and the movement has been converted from verge to anchor.

JOSEPH WINDMILLS, LONDON A FINE EARLY 18th CENTURY FIGURED WALNUT 8-DAY LONGCASE CLOCK with caddy top and pierced sound frets above a fan inlaid long trunk door and unusual concave panelled base with a starburst inlay; standing on bracket feet. The 12" shallow arched brass dial with strike/silent lever to the left-hand side, silvered chapter ring, crown and cherub spandrels, engraved arch and oval silvered name plaque; enclosing a matted centre with ringed winding holes, seconds dial and date aperture. Fronting an 8-day weight driven movement with five finned turned pillars, inner count wheel strike and striking the hours on a bell 244cm high.ConditionIn good condition, been restored in the last 20 years. The clock is in good working condition but would benefit from a clean. The bottom half of the base is later, the backboard has a replaced piece at the base. There is a small piece of moulding which has lifted on the hood.
