An 18th century oak and elm cased long case clock, the hood with moulded cornice, glazed door flanked by turned pilasters over an arched trunk door to a flat fronted base on bracket feet, the square brass dial with silvered chapter ring, Roman numerals within applied C scroll and urn spandrels to a matted centre and thirty hour four pillar movement CONDITION REPORTS Hood, trunk and base have evidence of wormholes (but no evidence of activity, as recently treated by furniture restorer), swept moulding to the base of the trunk to the plinth base has some aged knocks with blackened stainings and gouge marks, this also extends down to the left-hand edge of the front panel adjacent to the side panel, there is evidence of a later bracket foot base, movement has a replacement back board.
A late 19th century walnut kneehole desk, the tooled leather insert over three frieze drawers with three banks of three drawers to each side, on bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Leather top has general wear and scuffing conducive with age and use, wood is faded especially to the back and right-hand corners, there are several splits to the pedestal bases, areas of chipping and scuffing to the edges of drawers, an area of patching to the top right-hand corner of the left-hand bank of drawers (2nd from top) and another area of patching on the right-hand bank of drawers on the frame in the top left-hand corner, bracket feet have loss of veneer, significant chips, etc., otherwise wear conducive with age and use.
A modern pine chest of drawers, the rectangular top with moulded edge above two short and two long drawers with turned knob handles raised on bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Appears to be a sound chest, but there is a large amount of scratching and general wear to top, top appears to have been drawn on by a child in the past as there are remaining signs of ink, top would need some rubbing down and re-varnishing, some knocks generally throughout the chest to edges, right-hand bottom drawer handle missing, has some quite deep scratches along the front.
A late Victorian satin walnut dressing chest with mirrored superstructure over two short and two long drawers on bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Appears in good sound overall condition, has probably had some recent restoration to smarten it up, one of the small drawers on the right-hand side of the top has a split running all the way across the top of the drawer, otherwise shows general signs of wear conducive to age.
A modern pine two door wardrobe, the moulded pediment above two panelled doors above two long drawers to bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Shows general signs of wear, knocks, bumps and scratches throughout conducive to general use, in particular the top cornice appears quite bumped along the top edge, one or two deep scratches to the door, looks a little bit "scuffy", a couple of deep scratches down the sides, is slightly discoloured/faded and may possibly have sat in sunlight, would benefit from general smartening up, but overall appears sound.
A circa 1900 mahogany breakfront bookcase, the moulded edge and gadrooned swept top over four astragal glazed doors enclosing shelves to a foliate carved moulded base on ogee bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Dimensions = 73" (185.5 cm) wide x 48" (122 cm) high. Some scuffs to the gadrooned swept frieze and the edges of both central doors. (see photos ). Some aged surface scratches to top, otherwise OK
A 19th Century mahogany and satinwood strung side cabinet, the rectangular reeded edge top over a cockbeaded drawer with ivory escutcheon and a pair of cupboards enclosing shelves on splayed bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Overall appears to be reasonably sound, but has general knocks, bumps and scratches throughout conducive to age, quite a deep scratch running in from the right-hand side on the top approx. 7 cm long, area of beading missing to top edge of drawer approx. 2 cm, above the top of the drawer there are at least two or three areas of veneer missing which have chipped off, the largest being approx. 2 cm x 1 cm, but there are also several other small areas, right-hand main door at the top has an area of damage underneath the metal strip top right corner approx. 3 cm x 2 cm to edge, has clearly been a patch repair in the past to the top edge of door on the corner approx. 10 cm x 2 cm but appears to have been professionally done and is not visible when door is shut, varnish is quite faded in areas and there is scratching throughout above the left-hand door, between the drawer and the door there are two areas of veneer missing altogether approx. 2 cm x 2 cm and 2 cm x 4 cm, left-hand door all along the back edge has split and dried out leaving a gap of approx. 0.5 cm running from the top to the bottom of the decoration (see photos), the other door is also starting to shrink, the inner panel coming away from the outer decoration particularly on the inner edge (similar to the other door, but not quite as bad), there is a split to the bottom apron veneer vertically down approx. 5 cm long, feet show general knocks and bumps. Overall, although appears sound, there are numerous other small knocks, bumps and areas of splitting and varnish missing throughout.
An oak longcase clock in the 18th century manner, the arched brass dial with silver chapter ring, Roman and Arabic numerals inscribed "Tempus Fugit" to the arch, within an arched case with moulded cornice and glazed trunk to a fielded panelled base on ogee bracket feet CONDITION REPORTS Approx. 199 cm high. Case has wear conducive with age and use, generally appears OK although the lower back section is missing (see photos), brass weight cases are scuffed and pitted, face is worn, see photos re mechanisms.
