An Arts & Crafts style painted pine hexagonal box of font form with bronze bracket embellishments and twin disc finial, raised on a tapered hexagonal foot, 56 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The top finial is loose. There are bruises and scrapes all over, and especially on one corner of the lid. There is some bubbling of the varnish, there is discolouration to the top of the base where is joins the box. The interior is plain. One hinge is loose. General wear and tear.
A 19th Century French rosewood veneered miniature commode in the Louis XV taste, the grey veined black marble top over three drawers with gilt brass foliate decorated handles and embellishments, raised on a bracket foot base, 39.5 cm wide x 30.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Marble has been broken and repaired to left side. There are various faults and chips. The chest has splits in several places, various scratches, knocks, chips, has been patched in places, is missing veneer in several places especially to the lower edges and feet. One handle is loose but present. The back is warped and bowing out at the top and stained. Drawer liners have some splits and cracks. Discolouration, staining and water marks to the wood. General wear and tear.
A Victorian papier-mache tray of rectangular form, the centre field decorated with fox hunting scene within a bamboo decorated border, by Dyson & Benson of London, bears crowned stamp verso, 77 cm x 58 cm CONDITION REPORTS Overall wear and scuffs, some warping, some damage and repairs, including to rim, where there has been some fillering and overpainting. Various splits and cracks, and some chips and losses to rim. Quite a lot of wear to the gilding. Some pitting and deterioration to the surface, various cracquelure. Base appears to be a separate board attached to the rim. Some small splits and some cup marks. Also has some bracket the sides to reverse, possibly repairs or for strengthening.
A 17th Century walnut and feather-banded dome topped box with engraved brass lock, raised on bracket feet, 28 cm wide x 22.5 cm deep x 12.8 cm high CONDITION REPORTS There is splitting to some of the veneers and some chips all over, especially to the back corners. The escutcheon has been repinned. There appear to have been some repairs to the feet and signs of old woodworm to the base. Hinges are loose and one is a little distorted. Box has general wear and tear including scratches, bumps, bruises etc, some splitting.
