GERMAN PORCELAIN WALL BRACKET - c.1890, a Meissen style German wall bracket, made by a provincial factory. Originally one of a pair, usual damage as with this style of porcelain on the flowers. Measures 210mmx200mm. and a late C.19th/early C.20th copy of an earlier European porcelain figure of two boys sat upon a lion. Impressed mark on base W & No. Damage to several areas and the lion is missing its tongue.
A 19th century maritime brass gimballed compass in wooden case, the dial inscribed 'Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird Ltd., Captain Chetwynd's Patent No.25965/06, Glasgow and London', the ring stamped 'Patt.24.0., No.144', and the outer gimballed ring inscribed 'Dent's Patent' with military markings, diameter of gimballed bracket 24cm, width of case 26cm, the case set with leather carrying strap.
A 19th century coromandel cased brass two-day marine chronometer, the upper hinged lid revealing a glazed inner section opening to show the silvered dial inscribed 'Gray & Keen, 25 & 26 Strand Liverpool', with up-down indicator, seconds dial inscribed '266' and with Roman numerals, in gimbaled bracket and original case with recessed brass carrying handles, diameter of dial 10.75cm, width of case 16.5cm. CONDITION REPORT Four small pieces of veneer missing to top and cracking commensurate with age. Working when tested.
