Muncaster, Whitehaven, Arabic numerals, rolling moon phase to arch, subsidiary calendar dial, twin winding holes, 30 hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with swan neck pediment and brass sphere finials, crossbanded shaped rectangular door to waist, flanked by reeded angles, bracket feet, 240cm high, c.1815William Muncaster (1776-1851) was the son of William Muncaster of Broughton-in-Furness, apprenticed c.1790-1797 and worked at Egremont before settling at Whitehaven. In 1825 he moved to Douglas, Isle of man and died there at Couchan in 1851. Condition Report: pendulum, weights, and spare gilt hands,
