A 19th Century mahogany chest, the plain top over two short and two long graduated drawers with brass swan neck handles raised on bracket feet, 81 cm wide x 45 cm deep x 83 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Top is showing signs of cracking and splitting in various places and has had some filled repairs. Back leg has been replaced and both front legs has had some repair. In need of a clean. Replacement handles. Splitting to the drawer liners. Some patching to the front throughout as well as general wear and tear to include some surface scratches, bumps, bruises, etc. See images for more details.
An 18th Century elm enclosed dresser, the plain top above three drawers and two cupboard doors flanking a central panel, raised on bracket feet, 160.5cm W x 43cm D x 83cm H CONDITION REPORTS Top has been patched on the left hand side. There is also a large chip near an area of old woodworm. Split near the centre. Looks as though it has had a top on it at some point. Wear to both sides. Signs of old woodworm throughout. Replacement handles and locks. Split drawer liners. Drawers have also had additions to the back to stop them falling out. General wear and tear conducive with age and use to include surface scratches, some small losses, etc. Moulding on the bottom left hand side has come away. See images for more details.

A late George III mahogany chest, the plain top with applied moulded edge over four long graduated drawers to heavy ogee bracket feet, 90cm W x 51.5cm D x 82.5cm H CONDITION REPORTS Top with some discolouration and staining particularly to the left corner. Replacement triangular section front left and front right. Knocks and dents throughout. The moulding appears to be in reasonable condition though with wear and tear conducive with age and use. The drawers have replacement handles. Liners appear original. See image for example. All drawers in similar condition. Feet basically sound though with wear and tear conducive with age. One section bottom left damaged but extent. See image. Reverse has tape along the grain x 4. The base has an added frame with castors which can / may be removed. Again see image.
An 18th century figured walnut bachelor's chest of drawers, with brushing slide, ornate multi-panel veneer top and bracket feet, width 95cm, height 87cm, depth 52cm. The veneer on the top has slightly split along the join and has been filled, but all very stable, there are a number of small water marks on the top, no splits on the side, brass handles not original and there is evidence of new handles being fitted to the drawers. There are small sections of veneer cracked and missing. There are cracks to the top of slide.

C18th Mahogany cased bracket clock, with brass top carrying handle, glazed back and front doors, and brass grille side panels, Strike/silent hand & 2 winding holes. The case 41cm High, excluding handle. The movement striking onto a bell; adjustable pendulum and key; No makers marks. Generally good condition, small veneer split below rear hinges and small losses both grille frames Provenance: 70 lots in this auction (and in particular the next 35 lots) are being sold on behalf of family executors, of a local Gentleman, with an interesting biography relating to many lots being offered ? Engineering, Aircraft, Cars, Trains, Clocks, Woodworking: Derek Straker Moxley, JP served as a WW2 aircraft engine technician.After the war, he became a Magistrate in Monmouthshire. He pursued his engineering interests firstly through cars before becoming involved with the Great Western Society at Hereford and the restoration of the famous steam locomotive King George V. On moving to Somerset in the late 1970s, he joined and later becoming President of the Society of Friends of the Fleet Air Arm Museum where he was part of the aircraft Restoration Group and worked on a number of plane exhibits for the museum, including a Fairey Albacore torpedo bomber (N4389). When restoration work ceased, Derek encouraged members of the group to become involved in aircraft restoration at the RAF Locking Helicopter Museum near Weston-Super-Mare where he restored a 1950s De Havilland Gypsy Major piston engine. Throughout he accumulated an extensive collection of technical and reference books and manuals from the different aircraft engines he worked on. An active member of the Dorset Clock Society for many years. Derek took great pride in his workshop and amassed a vast array of tools and machinery, and had many articles in the Model Engineer or The Woodworker magazines.
