A 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS the upper section with two panelled doors opening to reveal a hanging space within over two drawers, the lower section with two short and two long drawers, each with lion mask ring handles and standing on shortened shaped bracket feet, 129cm wide x 206cm high
A bracket clock made by F W Elliott Ltd in 1981 and retailed by Garrard & Co. The clock commemorates the 355th anniversary of the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers. The ebonised pad top case has commemorative brass side frets, a central finial and brass carrying handles. The 6"" diameter white dial has Roman numerals and trefoil hands and there is a pierced wooden sound fret below the dial, a stepped base and gilt bracket feet. The three train movement has a platform lever escapement and is quarter chiming on eight straight rods. There is a choice of Westminster, Whittington or Winchester chimes, with certificate and key, the clock stands 15.5"" tall overall.
A most uncommon, imposing and highly collectable silver on hammered finish copper and brass Aesthetic Movement, Arts and Crafts Bracket Clock, possibly Scottish or American School. The arched hand-beaten copper body raised on flared feet extending to a diminishing tapering column at each corner, the beaten face having embossed figures, Arabic numerals and two winding apertures and below it two lines of hand-beaten script in a font of highly stylized capitals, the well known quotation of Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the United States: "HE THAT RISETH LATE MUST TROT ALL DAY". The door to the rear having a wrought iron latch handle and riveted hinges opening to reveal a high quality French two-train brass constructed movement by Japy Freres numbered 35469 striking the hours and half hours on a gong. 13 1/8" tall, 9 1/2" wide and 7 1/4" deep.
