A mahogany open bookcase, with moulded cornice above a knulled frieze above a series of shelves and raised on bracket feet. Width 124 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 113 cm, depth 31 cm, width 24 cm. The condition of the bookcase is generally good. There are no significant marks to the top or sides. The right hand upright column is manufactured from two sections of mahogany. This has sprung at the top and requires wood glue and clamping. This is a relatively small job. The bracket feet are original and in good order as are the backboards.
A George III mahogany chest of drawers, with moulded edge and canted angles, with two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and raised on tall bracket feet. Width 110 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The chest is in generally very good order. There is a very small section of cockbeading missing to the top right hand corner of the top drawer and also to the bottom left hand corner of the bottom drawer. Other than this the drawer fronts are in good condition. The handles are later replacements. The backplates cover a knob handle hole. The handles do not quite fit the original handle holes but are not far off. The bracket feet are original and in good condition. There are no splits to the sides and only minor blemishes to the canted angles. The backboards are original.
A George III mahogany chest of drawers, with moulded edge, canted angles with blind fretwork, two short and three long graduated drawers and raised ogee moulded bracket feet. Width 117 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The handles are replacements but they have used the original holes. We believe the locks are original although slightly crude. The top right hand drawer escutcheon has been repaired and has a patch replaced repair and infills above the top right hand and left hand drawers (above the lock) and similar to the centre long drawer, there are some old repairs to the front end.
A 19th century green painted chest of small drawers, raised on bracket feet. Width 117 cm, depth 34 cm, height 125 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chest is structurally very sound. It is however as you see it in the image namely with numerous old paint and varnish chips and losses in particular to the drawer fronts. All drawers operate but some are a little stiff. The left hand side moulding is a little sprung by the second bottom left drawer. The bracket feet are solid and appear to be original. The backboards are original. We can see no evidence of any woodworm.
An Edwardian inlaid mahogany standing corner cabinet, narrow proportions, raised on bracket feet. Width 55 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The display cabinet is in reasonably good condition. It could be used in its present state without the need for any repair or restoration. Neither door is warped. There is no broken glass. There are minor marks and scuffs to the cornice, the canted angels and front proud moulded edge. These should be visible on our photograph. The backboards and feet are original and all present.
