An incredible collection of WWII Second World War 'bring back' memorabilia, all pertaining to a Sapper Batten 14756473 No.1 Section, likely of the Royal Engineers. By repute one of the first British soldiers to enter Berlin as the war was ending, and was one of the first British soldiers inside Nazi leader Adolf Hitler's bunker. Taken as souvenirs, the pieces include: a large fragment of Hitler's lavatory chain wall holder, the bracket from a soap dish, a fragment of wire from the bunker's telephone exchange and a small key-hole cover. Also included are fragments of stonework from The Reichstag in Berlin. Most neatly labelled. Along with other personal effects relating to Batten, including maps, training books etc. A rare and interesting collection of artefacts. Provenance: a previous auction catalogue description, and handwritten notes from from the purchaser explaining he met Batten's daughter who explained the story.

A WWI First World War interest later-issue brass bell inscribed for ' MS Bremen 1911 '. Mounted on a wooden plaque, with an anchor bracket. Measures approx; 36cm tall.The MS Bremen was a ship owned by North German Lloyd Steamship Co. The initial “MS” indicates it was a motor ship and had an internal combustion engine. It was launched in 1896 and made trips from Bremen, Germany, to New York and from Bremen to Australia beginning in 1897. Her last trip to Australia was in 1911. After World War I, the ship belonged to a British company. It was sold again and renamed twice before being scrapped in 1929.

* Propeller. A WWI laminated mahogany two blade propeller from a De Havilland 2 by The Integral Propeller Co Limited, with decal on each blade, with various impressed stamps including war department arrow within S S, serial no. 18351, 'A.I.D. 125', stencilled in black 'A.M.C. 10932', the boss stamped 'I.R.C.', 'D2.50', 'P 2.40', 'HP 100 Mono', 'D.G. .0?'., 'B 1.366', 250cm long, a fine propeller which at some time has been cut in half, however it has been professionally repaired with a substantial brass plate on the boss, sold with a custom made wall bracket for display plus a history of the aircraft, framed and glazed (Qty: 1)There were 450 De Havilland 2 which served with the British Expeditionary Forces over the Western Front during WWI. The propeller was used to 'push' the aircraft rather than pull it, and this was one of the last examples of push propellers. The engine had to be hand 'cranked' to start and many inexperienced ground crews lost their lives starting the engine in this fashion due to the endorsed space in which they operated with the tail boom surrounding them.

Reilly, 66 Sqn, 17 October 1940, presented on a modern board comprising remains of a a valve, bracket, bullet, window and tunic button with an airfix type model of a Spitfire plus historical plaques, 23.5 x 30cm, together with a WWI aircraft propeller tip, two ARP steel helmets, rations books, civilian gas masks etc (Qty: carton)43043 Pilot Officer Hugh William Reilly was born in London, Ontario in 1918, he came to England in May 1939 and joined the RAF in September. In September 1940 he joined 64 Sqn at Leconsfield and later that month moved to 66 Sqn at Gravesend, on 27 September he shot down a Me109, and he himself was shot down and killed on 17 October 1940 over Westerham by Major Molders of Jg51 and his Spitfire crashed at Crockham Hill, Sevenoaks, Reilly is buried in Gravesend Cemetery, Kent.
