A George III Mahogany Chest, with square edge to top, fitted four long graduated drawers on bracket feet, 32.75ins wide x 20ins deep x 36ins high To the top some light scattered scratching and areas of darker staining and all three front edges of the top have some general rubbing and slight edge knocks. On the left hand side there is an area of beading missing around 2ins long running horizontally. On the left hand side there is some light scattered scratching. In between the two boards there is a line due to shrinkage, however it is not a split or crack, the same for the right hand side. Drawers run and free and easily with minimal resistance. General heavier wear to the feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints and appears to be in a good overall condition.

A Late 19th / Early 20th Century French Brass "Four Glass" Mantel Clock, by P. Japys et Cie, No. 2072, the 3.5ins diameter cream enamel dial with Arabic numerals and floral swag ornament, to the eight day two train movement striking on a gong and with mercury compensating pendulum, contained in brass and bevelled glass case, on bracket feet, 12.5ins high The clock presents in condition commensurate with age and general usage. There is some slight discolouration to the gilding on the exterior but again this is patination of age. there is no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. All the glass is free from any obvious sign of cracking or chipping and likewise there is no obvious sign of previous repair to the dial. The dial is free from cracks and chips and the gilding to the bezel is in good order the black Roman baton numerals are clear and concise and have not been restored in any way. The mechanism appears complete and original however we cannot guarantee the originality of all components. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Both of the mercurial tubes are half full. The key is present. the gong strikes. Prospective bidders are advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding

A 17th Century Panelled Oak Walnut and Pine Chest in Two Sections, with moulded edge to top, fitted four long drawers with twin moulded panels to front and interspersed by bead mouldings, on bracket feet 41ins wide x 22.75ins deep x 37ins highTo the top there is some general scattered scratching and darker staining. Between the three planks that make up the top there are two horizontal shrinkage splits running from one end to the other. On the left hand side of the top there is a shrinkage split running horizontally around 15ins long. Around all three front edges of the top there is some slight rubbing and general edge knocks. To the right hand side of each of the panels there are signs of historic woodworm with flight holes present. General heavier scattered scratching, the same on the left hand side. Drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance. General heavier wear to the base and feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound however there is a lot of movement in the joints.
A 19th Century Mahogany Longcase Clock, by Benjamin Taylor of London, the 12ins arched brass dial with silvered centre and chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, strike silent dial to arch, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell, contained in case with arched and moulded corners and stop fluted columns to hood, arched and moulded trunk door with reeded quarter columns to sides, on plinth base with bracket feet, 90ins highExternally the case presents in condition commensurate with age and moderate usage. There are numerous small ding and marks and bruises but nothing significant. There is no obvious evidence of woodworm, again the hood has some small marks to the corners and some slight cracking to the veneer to the front left hand bottom corner. The reeded columns are in good condition and appear free from any obvious sign of damage. The door functions correctly however there is some wear in the hinges but they do appear to be original and the screws appear to also be original. The weight and crank handle are present, along with the pendulum, the dial does have some wear to the silvering. In general this is commensurate with age and the door to the hood has some damage to the veneer around the lock area and some cracking to the bottom of the door. The door hinges appear to function correctly, the glass is free from any cracks or damage and appears to be original. The bottom hinge is detached with no screws present and the top hinge has one modern screw. We do not appear to have a key for the hood door. The mechanism appears to be complete but we cannot warrant its originality. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are advised to study all images carefully prior to bidding.
An 18th Century Oak Longcase Clock, by John Tickell of Crediton, the 11ins square brass dial with Roman numerals to the thirty hour weight-driven movement, striking on a bell, contained in case with moulded cornice and turned columns to hood, arched trunk door, arched panel plinth base, and on bracket feet, 79ins high Externally the clock presents in good overall condition showing wear commensurate with age and usage. Numerous light dings that have been polished over the years. Some small cracks here and there but nothing of any significant nature. The hood itself has a chip to the bottom left hand corner approximately 1ins x 0.5ins. The columns are in good condition. The glass is intact and free from any damage and appears to be original. The hinges to the glass are original. The dial is in nice condition, clear bright and crisp. Hands appear original. The mechanism is intact but we cannot warrant the originality of all components. Weight and pendulum are present. The door to the cabinet itself appears to have had the hinges modified at some time. There are areas cut away from the previous hinge and it appears to have been modified, however this is historic. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. Prospective bidders are strongly advised to study all images closely prior to bidding.

A 19th Century French Provincial Fruitwood Bookcase, the upper part with moulded cornice, fitted two shelves enclosed by pair of glazed doors, the base fitted two frieze drawers and cupboard under enclosed by pair of panelled doors, on bracket feet, 53ins wide x 19.5ins deep x 88ins highTo the top of the cornice around all three front edges there is some general rubbing and slight edge knocks. On the lower section of the cornice the frieze, the veneer has various areas of shrinkage and there is a diagonal shrinkage split on the right hand side around 3ins long. On the right hand side there is a vertical shrinkage split running from one end to the other. There is an area of veneer loss at the back left hand corner in a triangular section around 0.5ins. Flight holes present to the whole, evidence of historic woodworm. The right hand door is slightly bowed and there is dark polish and stain build up to the doors. General scattered scratching to the top of the base and darker staining. Drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance. Key is present. The base is unevenly faded from the top. To the right hand side at the base there is a vertical shrinkage split running from one end to the other. The same on the left hand side. General heavier wear to the feet and plinth base commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.

A LATE 17TH BRACKET CLOCK WITH QUARTER BELL STRIKE BY JOHN SHAW LONDON, the ebonised case having a low caddy top, gilded filigree decorations and opposing female handle, the 8 inch dial plate with silvered chapter ring, angelic spandrels, matted inner, blued filigree hands and ringed decorations to the winding holes / date aperture, silent strike lever above 12 numeral, the four pillar movement with twin fusee train and verge escapement, striking the quarters on a series of small bells and the hourly strike on large bell, the rear plate richly engraved with repeat pull via blued-steel interconnecting levers, regulated by a pear shaped small bob pendulum, overall H 40 cm Condition: Movement very clean. Going train ticks on winding. Striking train rings correctly on the hourly strike. Quarter strikes work on bells when blued levers are activated but not via the minute hand. Ebonised case and gilded decorations appear to have been restored.

Going train ticks on winding. Striking train currently not working. Movement not fixed at present to saddle blocks.
