Good Scarce Helmet for the Bodyguard of the Khedive of Egypt c.1870, iron skull retaining nearly all its original khaki painted finish,  brass mounts including flights of the arrow-shaped adjustable nasal bar, retaining bracket, applied embossed border and turned over edge of the neck-guard, iron crescent finial fixes to the prominent brass boss surmounting the skull.  Height 28.5cms. Good untouched condition. Note: presumably made for the bodyguard of the founder of the Egyptian Khedivate Ismail Pasha, reg. 1867 – 1879

One hoop detached and the opposing end re-attached. The ends of one other bar appear to have been re-attached also. Slightly misshapen and therefore rocks.
