A GILT-BRONZE CLOISONNE ENAMEL DISH, CHINA, 18TH CENTURYThe shallow lobed sides rising from a recessed foot to an everted and barbed rim. The interior and base are finely gilt. The rim is neatly decorated in crisp enamels with lotus blossoms borne on scrolling vines, the exterior sides with stylized lotus sprays, all against a bright turquoise ground. Note the overall elegant yet strictly functional design, typical for the period.Provenance: From a private collection in Paris, France.
