A 19th century mahogany bowfronted chest of drawers, with two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with oval backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front, raised on bracket feet. Width 110 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally good order. The top is flat and clean as are the sides. There are no losses to the edge moulding. All drawer fronts are in good order with no missing cockbeading. The handles are later replacements which cover the original holes for what will have been knob handles. The shaped apron and bracket feet are in good condition.
An 18th century walnut veneered kneehole desk, with crossbanded top with reentrant corners above a series of frieze drawers and centre recessed cupboard, all raised on bracket feet. Width 76 cm. CONDITION REPORT: We do not think that this desk has been re-veneered. It does however require extensive restoration. The top is flat but does have a large number of stress fractures to the veneer and one wider crack running across the whole of the top. There are also small areas of veneer missing. The moulded edge to the top is generally in good order with only minor losses. The sides of the desk both have significant cracks to the veneers. The drawer fronts have veneer losses as do the runners between the drawers. The handles are old but clearly not original. The carcass is veneered on to pine. The drawer linings are however oak. The bracket feet are in poor condition and all have woodworm. The rear left hand foot is detached and in pieces. The backboards appear to be original and also have some woodworm. The lock is missing to the top drawer.
A George III mahogany secretaire bookcase, in two sections, the top half with moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors with wooden astragals, the base fitted with a secretaire drawer above two further graduated drawers with wooden knob handles and raised on bracket feet. Width 115 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The cornice is in good condition. The sides of the top are in very good order. The glazed doors are not warped, close properly and have no broken panes of glass. All astragals are present. The top of the base is a good colour but has old watermarks, ring marks and old scratches. The ebony edge beading is partially missing on the left hand return. The sides of the piece are not cracked. The secretaire drawer is in good condition and operates as it should. The interior is complete. The green baize is tired. The three remaining drawers are all in good order with original handles and no losses to the cockbeading. The bracket feet are original. There is a loss to the bottom left hand front leg and a repair to the front right hand front section of leg. The back boards are original.
A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded Lancashire mule chest, the hinged top with moulded edge above two dummy and five actual drawers with brass drop handles and oval backplates and raised on bracket feet. Width 163 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chest is in original, untouched, unrestored condition. The top is generally flat but has old scuffs, marks and ink stains. The hinges are all present and correct. The edge moulding is largely intact but has a small loss to the top left hand corner. The top left dummy drawer front is loose and needs regluing. There are numerous scratches and scuffs to all drawer fronts but the only substantial loss is to the top right hand corner of the right hand middle drawer where a clear crossbanding loss is evident. The front base moulding is loose and partially detached. The brass drop handles and lock escutcheons appear to be original. There are losses to both front bracket feet and also the rear right hand bracket foot. The applied over mouldings are 60% missing. The sides of the piece are in generally good order and the three portrait panelled backboards are original. The rear supporting plank is a later replacement.
An 18th century mahogany commode chest of drawers, probably Dutch, with serpentine front, four frieze drawers with brass drop handles, shaped backplates and lock escutcheons and with cockbeading to each drawer front, flanked by fluted rounded columns and raised on shaped bracket feet. Width 120 cm (see illustration).
A Regency mahogany ebony strung chest of drawers, two short and three long drawers with later brass drop handles with oval backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front, with shaped apron beneath and raised on splayed bracket feet. Width 99 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top is flat, not cracked and in very good condition. All of the ebony stringing is present. The drawer fronts are all in first class condition and all cockbeading is present. The sides of the chest are not cracked. The backboards are original. The bracket feet are original and in generally good order. The front feet are both scuffed as one would expect. The right hand front leg has had a small break on the return and there is a small veneer repair at the bottom of the foot.

A George III mahogany boxwood strung and crossbanded chest of drawers, with two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with oval backplates and raised on bracket feet. Width 115 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Generally very clean. There is a small veneer loss to the crossbanding at the rear left hand corner and a further small 2 inch loss to the marquetry frieze also at the rear left hand corner. There is another small loss to the front right hand corner of the frieze and slight lifting of that band on the right hand return. The drawer fronts are in generally good order. Drawer two has a small cockbead loss, drawer three likewise. The other drawers are all in good order. The handles seem to be original. The sides of the piece are not cracked. The backboards are original and the bracket feet also.
A Regency ebonised bracket clock, by James McCabe, Royal Exchange, London, with three-train movement striking on a bell and with ten further musical bells, also inscribed on the backplate "McCabe, London", with brass carrying handles to either side and raised on brass bracket feet. Width 36 cm, height 46 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This clock is in generally very good order. The movement is currently ticking nicely and striking and chiming as it should. It sounds on the full, quarter, half and three-quarter. The repeat mechanism works also. The case is in basically very good order as is all of the brasswork. The feet are original. There are some old stress fractures across the top of the arched hood but no significant case issues. The dial is a little dirty with scuffs around the winding apertures but again no significant issues.
A Queen Anne oak bureau, with slope front to stepped interior and with well above a series of frieze drawers with brass drop handles and raised on bracket feet. Width 86 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This bureau is in reasonably good, unestored condition. The top has old scuff marks and water stains. There is a brass plate above the lock covering a damaged lock plate. The flap has an original lock escutcheon and is in reasonable order. The interior is a little tired. One of the arches from above the pigeon hole is missing and one is detached. The left hand flap support (loper is missing its oak end). The handles are old but probably later replacements. The lock escutcheons are probably original. The sides of the piece are in good order as are the bracket feet. The back panels are original. The piece has not had any restoration.
A Queen Anne walnut double dome bookcase top, with George II walnut bureau beneath, the top half with moulded cornice above a pair of crossbanded and strung doors with applied relief mouldings opening to a series of shelves, the base with sloped front to fitted interior with well and with three drawers with brass drop handles and raised on bracket feet. Width 84 cm, height of bureau 105 cm, height of bookcase top 110 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase top is generally a little tatty but without any significant losses and with no major repairs. The top of the piece is clearly original as are the backboards. The doors are in basically good condition and not warped. They appear very original as does the interior. There is no lock. The brass lock escutcheon is probably original. There is a crossbanded veneer repair to the rear of the left hand side and a section of crossbanding of approximately 1 inch square missing. The right hand side of the top has some lifting veneer but no real issues. The later base is also a little tired but in generally reasonable order. The top is fairly original and the slope front which has less good patination has been restored at some point and is a little flat. There are various veneer repairs to the flap. The handles are not original and neither are the bracket feet. The sides of the piece are in generally good condition as are the backboards. The interior is fairly original however there are numerous repairs around the hinges. There is also some evidence of woodworm to the left hand side of the slope front as well as a moulding loss to the top left hand corner.
A George III mahogany chest of drawers, the rectangular top with moulded edge above a slide, with two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and lock escutcheons, with moulding below and raised on bracket feet. Width 87 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The top is flat but does have a watermark to the centre and various scuffs and scratches. The slide is original and operates as it should. The drawer fronts are in generally good condition. The bottom drawer has a section of cockbeading missing to the bottom left hand corner. The handles are later replacements which cover in the main existing holes. The top two locks are missing entirely. The sides of the piece are in generally good condition. There is a small veneer loss right at the rear of the left hand top rear corner. The bracket feet are original and in good order.
A George III mahogany tallboy, in two sections, the top half with moulded cornice above two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles with embossed shaped backplates, flanked by maple inlaid and ebony strung pilasters, the base fitted with three further drawers and raised on bracket feet.
