A gilt brass striking carriage clock With a 5.5cm white enamel Roman and Arabic dial with blued moon hands and alarm ring below, with an engine turned ground with a platform leaver escapement strike repeat alarm on a gong the back plate signed JS Paris No: 5081, for J Soldano, the gorge case with large viewing aperture to the top, bevelled glass panels raised upon a shaped ogee plinth and bracket feet, 14 x 9.5 x 8cms. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2225: Signed JS Paris No: 5081, for J Soldano. The case, overall scratching to the gilt metal frame, no cracks to the glass, bezel above the escapement, no cracks to glass in the the panel in front of the dial, no cracks to left or right hand panels or back door. Scratching and loss of gilding or brass in to the frame of the back door and overall in raised areas. The movement is working, does not strike repeat and the alarm mechanism does not strike, the strike mechanism when passing the hour raises the striking hammer but does not contact, repeat mechanism does not operate or alarm. No key with the clock. We are of the opinion the escapement is original to the clock but would need you to verify this and as such we will send images for you to determine whether this original. Condition of the dial - the hour dial, hairline crack running from the centre of the dial to in between twenty five and thirty, enamel flowers to the centre rubbed and faded, the hour alarm dial fading and wear to the enamel flowers in the centre, hairline crack running between nine and ten.

(illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The circular white dial in good condition, no cracks or chips, hinge to handle good condition, oval top glass good condition, very minor chip to the left hand angle of the bevelled glass right hand panel, brass outer case dull outer case polished, two roundel stains on the top, some surface scratching typical of age otherwise good condition, escapement works but not running for length of time. No number to Morocco case, the case lacking handles and extensive wear to the leather showing brown under surface.

A William IV inlaid mahogany longcase clock signed MacNaughton Edinburgh The 32cm silvered dial with subsidiary seconds and dates dials, Roman numerals, the two train eight day movement with anchor escapement, rack striking on a bell, the case with an arched moulded top above canted angles and incised spandrels, the slender well figured trunk door with an arched top, flanked by fluted quarter columns above an inlaid oval, raised on a plinth base, inlaid with line inlays above a shaped apron and bracket feet, with a hood key, two weights, pendulum and winding key, 198cm, 46cm width of plinth. (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2247: The case - some chips of mahogany missing to the right hand side of the cornice, approximately 16cm and a small piece missing on the opposite side approximately 8cm. Stress cracks which haven't stretched on the right hand side, one to the left of the glass roundel aperture, one below the glass roundel aperture and on the opposite side running vertically. Some scratching to the brass bezel, silvered dial not polished, the long door hinges tight, not warped, a strip of replaced veneer on the left hand side opposite the key hole aperture. Good figuring to the plinth, traces of a stress crack but no movement in it. Small triangular strip of veneer missing on the left hand side of the cross banded frieze on the plinth 1cm width. Original back boards, movement looks to be in good condition but not running recently.

(illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2342: Good size and nice proportions, however the chest has been re polished, the rectangular top with old ring marks, oval burn or bruise mark approximately 2cm, two small earlier indentations have been refilled with a dark red brown infill approximately 2cm x 1.5cm. The front, infill of veneer to the left of the brushing slide approximately .5cm x 2cm, the board which supports the brushing slide small infill of veneer replaced triangular in shape 2cm. Top drawer original handles and centre escutcheons, top drawer cock beading missing to right hand side 8cm, piece missing on the left hand side approximately 5cm, polish infill around the escutcheons and handles, run of polish on the right hand side of the top drawer, third drawer down length of cock beading missing to the top right hand side approximately 14cm, lock missing, veneer infill to the right hand angle of the third drawer down approximately 3cm x 2cm, infill on the left hand side to the top of the drawer approximately 2cm x 0.5cm, run of polish opposite the third drawer down and an infill of veneer beneath and to the left of the drawer approximately 3cm, length of cock beading missing to the bottom drawer approximately 17cm, chips to cock beading on the right hand side, old bruising visible to bottom drawer. Scratching and bruising to the plinth, front ogee facing supports original part missing of left hand support, part of bracket missing to right hand side, left hand side a front support replaced with a pine shaped bracket, pine rear supports may not be original, orriginal back boards, original oak or chestnut drawer linings, good condition, colour bright due to repolish.

CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2365: The cornice, front good condition, minor piece of dentil moulding missing on the right hand side approx. 2.5cms, left hand side cornice slight chips measuring approx 9cms and 7cms but very thin slivers, cockbeading missing to right of left hand short drawer, 12.5cms, small insets beneath the dentil moulding ware the lock would have gone up, a piece of veneer missing below the 1st long drawer measures approx 2x5cms, minor discolouration right hand side of 2nd long drawer 4x1cms, original chestnut or oak drawer linings good condition and boards, 5th long drawer lock missing, handles old and signs of dent below possibly replaced, stress crack left hand side top minor 26cms, some surface scratching to the bottom two drawers, surface scratching to the bracket feet, the front is faded, richer colour left and right hand side, no worm, left hand moulding loose requires re-fixing, good condition.
