A LATE 18TH CENTURY FRENCH BOULLE MARQUETRY BRACKET CLOCK, ormolu figural surmount of Hercules wearing a lion skin, the tortoiseshell and ormolu mounted balloon shaped case with shell and fruit above the door and eagle with outstretched wings above Classical devices to the foot of the door and between the front legs, the circular embossed gilt dial with enamel white and blue Roman numerals and an enamel plaque below the dial 'HELYE A PARIS', the backplate engraved the same, the eight day movement with count wheel strike on a bell, with key, case key and pendulum, height 69.5cm (condition: left side panel has two cracks in the glass, brass inlay missing to left and right sides, gap between back door and interior base, other losses to timber and splits, ormolu surmount is loose, movement winds, heard and seen chiming)

A GEORGE III PALE OAK, MAHOGANY AND SATINWOOD EIGHT DAY LONGCASE CLOCK BY JAMES OATLEY OF TAMWORTH, broken swan neck pediment with stamped brass roundels with brass orb finial, the arched hood on fluted columns with brass caps flanking a painted dial, the arch with oval vignette of a gardener, strawberry and floral painted spandrels, the 32cm/12 1/2'' dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, named 'Jas Oatley Tamworth', reverse of the movement plate named WILSON, the trunk door flanked by quarter columns, on a plinth base with shaped bracket feet, height 237cm, with pendulum, two weights, trunk key and winding key (condition: the case is in good clean condition, the dial has two patches of paint loss where the movement is fastened, James Oatley was deported to Australia in 1814 arriving in Hobart in 1815, he was pardoned in 1821 and his later clocks bear the name of James Oatley, Sydney)
