PRESTON NORTH END 1890 Excellent very scarce booklet with 16 pages entitled "North End Football Club First Eleven Matches from 1883-84 tom 1889-90. Printed in Preston in 1890, this booklet records the scores, dates and opposition of every game played by Preston North End during this period. The number of games played by the team would be unthinkable today. For example in season 1888-89 when Preston became the first Football League Champions and also won the FA Cup, they actually played 70 games and whilst unbeaten in League and Cup games, they were defeated on 9 occasions in other games losing to Celtic, Third Lanark, Queens' Park, Sheffield Wed, Sunderland , Corinthians and Bolton amongst others. The booklet has annotations inside the back cover showing results from 1890-91 to 1896-97. The booklet has a vertical fold and the back cover is a little grubby. It is complete and the name "Thomas Park" is neatly written on the inside frontispiece. As described.
