Collection of Pre/Post-war Cricket Games: to incl. 1930s indoor game of cricket, titled `Stumpz` by Thos De La Rue, London, c/w green linen square cricket pitch, players, cards, scorecard, break indicator and instructions - in makers original box with label which reads: `The Indoor Game of Cricket played by the Australian Test Team, English teams and keen cricketers everywhere`. Note repairs to lid.
Collection of Rugby books: to incl. `The History of the Laws of Rugby Football` by Admiral Sir Percy Royds, 1st ed. 1949, the book goes right back to its origins in 1866 and gives an in depth account of the game and changes and development of the rules of rugby, to incl. various illustrations- in the original blue and gilt boards (G). Plus 1954 Rugby Digest Handbook together with 1951/52 `Playfair Rugby Football Annual`.
Rare 1950s British Lions Rugby Programme (A): for Ceylon v British Isles RFU Team programme, this concluded the British Lions tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1950 and on the return home the British Lions played an unofficial international game against the Ceylon (Sri Lanka) National Team, winning 44-6. Vertical and horizontal crease folds, some sight thumb stains to covers, otherwise (F/G) - also note that this was the first ever British Lions Team made up from International players from the home countries. Extremely rare.
Fine Welsh `The Outside Halves 1951-2002` signed limited ed. rugby display: comprising a maroon, velvet and gold braid rugby cap, embroidered with the date `1951-2002` to the peak - together with a matching maroon velvet pennant embroidered `Outside Haves` together with the 6 Welsh Fly-Halves who dominated the game to incl. Cliff Morgan, David Watkins, Barry John, Phil Bennett, Jonathan Davis and Neil Jenkins - together with number of caps won. Bordered by 6x signed coloured prints, ltd ed. of only no. 17/100, fully mounted in a window box display case, c/w coa, overall 39"x35".
Manchester United football programmes 1962/1965 (H): Complete sets of 1962/3 (27) incl. friendlies against First Vienna and Benfica, plus all 4 red emergency 4 page editions, all have tokens; 1963/4 (23) incl. West Bromwich Albion, George Best`s first game and the elusive Sheffield United 13/4/`64, all with tokens; 1964/5 (25), incl. the scarce Chester FAC and Arsenal, again all have tokens (G/VG) (74).
Manchester United football programmes 1975/1980 (H): Complete sets of 1975/6 (26) incl. v Red Star friendly, v England Youth, 1976/7 (32) all European, FA Cup and League Cup, 1977/8 (26) incl. v St Etienne played at Plymouth and Manchester City v Luton League Cup 2nd replay, 1978/9 (26) and 1979/80 (24) incl. postponed v Bolton 1/1/80 with insert for rearranged game -all in red and gold club holders, all but a handful have tokens intact (G)(134).
Rare 1957 West Bromwich Albion v Dynamo Tbilisi football programme (A): West Bromwich Albion toured Russia in 1957 and played 3 games, beating both Dynamo Tbilisi and the Soviet Army Side (CSKA) Moscow and drew against F. C. Zenit in Leningrad and became the 1st British Professional team to win a game in the Soviet Union - single folded sheet (VG).

A 19th Century longcase clock, the eight day movement with painted arched dial depicting a river scene, hunting hounds and game to the spandrels with seconds dial and date aperture, in mahogany and oak case with broken pediment on turned column supports, pointed arched trunk door, flanked by ring turned pilasters and bracket feet, 85 1/2" high
Angelica Garnett (British, b.1918) - a Victorian glazed bookcase, circa 1860, the base panels later painted by Angelica Garnett, a member of the Bloomsbury Group, the panels depict Wine, Dead Game, Eggs and Fruit, 223 x 158 x 45cm (88 x 62 x 18in). Angelica Garnett (nee Bell) was born in 1918, the daughter of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and niece of Virginia Woolf. She is a writer and painter and married David Garnett in 1942. She spent her childhood at Charleston, Sussex. Provenance: Hilton Hall, Hilton, Cambridgeshire. This Lot is from the Hilton Hall Collection.
