An early 20th century Mahjong set - bone-faced tiles and scoring chips within an Oriental three-drawer lacquered box with top carrying-handle. One scoring chip missing. (20cm wide)Condition Report: One swan neck handle is missing and the lacquered is in good general condition overall but the lacquer has dulled down significantly, there are some marks commensurate with age. It is noted that going through the tiles one scoring tile is missing but all the other pieces are present. The game has been clearly used and played with and as such the some of the bone surfaces exhibit darkening and grime. The set also includes instructions.

'We had a nice long visit from Elizabeth before Xmas and she is looking so well in spite of all the hard work she has to do. She is so happy that I feel quite at peace about her'. Sold with two other letters from Lady Strathmore, a photograph of Lady Strathmore with her daughter Princess Elizabeth Duchess of York, a wedding invitation from the Earl and Countess of Strathmore inviting Miss Beryl Poignand to their daughters' Lady Rose Bowes-Lyon wedding to Commander W. Leverson-Gower R.N. May 24th 1916 and a dried flower piece of the bouquet. A collection of other Bowes-Lyon family and friends letters to Miss Poignand including the Spencer family and photographs of Elizabeth big game hunting in Africa in 1924

GOLDING; a 19th century 10 bore percussion cap live pigeon single barrel shotgun with 30" Damascus barrel set with smooth concave rib to the breech of the barrel, stamped with the maker's name, the lock plate further stamped with the maker's name with a pair of vignettes of simple game scenes within scrolling foliate borders and mounted on a checkered walnut stock with steel furniture and shield shaped yellow metal poncoin to the underside, overall length 119cm. Additional InformationOverall very good condition, with signs of light use including minor surface scratches, etc, to the stock and minor rubbing to the muzzle end of the barrel.

***RFD BUYERS ONLY*** T C MARTIN; a 12 bore side-by-side double trigger non-ejector hammer gun, the 28" Damascus barrels with 2" chambers set with concave textured rib bearing the maker's details, the lock plates engraved with game scenes within simple foliate borders and mounted on a checkered walnut stock with white metal poncoin below, overall length 113cm, SN:0430384.Additional InformationSuitable for black powder only and out of proof. Well-used condition throughout, the barrels are showing the texture of the Damascus finish and holds very little colour. The fore end has a splint missing from the left hand side and a further small area of damage to the right hand side. The checkering is extremely worn and the stock bears further signs of extensive use throughout, including scuffs, scrapes, staining, fading, etc. There are further signs of wear to the lockplates and around the top lever. It does not bear Nitro proof marks, it is black powder only. Would suggest it would benefit from an extensive service by a qualified gunsmith. Barrels choked at quarter and three-quarters. Length of pull 14.5".

***SECTION 2 FIREARMS LICENCE REQUIRED*** GE LEWIS; an 11 bore side-by-side double trigger hammer gun, the 30" Damascus barrels with 3" chambers and set with a smooth concave rib stamped with the maker's details, both barrels stamped 'Full Choke Stop the Action' with a game scene within foliate scrolling borders and mounted on a checkered walnut stock set with a white metal poncoin inscribed 'C.E. Martin, overall length 120cm, SN:7505.Additional InformationOverall good condition showing only light signs of use throughout. There is wear to the finish at the muzzle end, there is a very slight head rattle but this is only noticeable when open, there is some minor scuffs to the Damascus finish around the for-end section of the gun. Further very light surface wear to the stock. The vendor has this gun logged on his ticket as a 10 bore shotgun, it was purchased as such but the measurements and the markings on the barrel suggest it is an 11 bore rather than a 10 bore. Barrels choked full and full and the length of pull is 15". Right side firing pin stiff and not always retracting. No proof of nitro.

***SECTION 2 FIREARMS LICENCE REQUIRED*** COGSWELL & HARRISON; a 12 bore Konor side-by-side double trigger side plated boxlock ejector shotgun, the 26" barrels with 2.75" chambers and set with a raised textured rib, the barrels further stamped 'Cogswell & Harrison' and 'Konor' and further stamped '158 Piccadilly, London', the case hardened action engraved with the maker's details and game scene within foliate scrolling borders, broad beaver tail fore end and mounted on a checkered well figured walnut stock with tear drop decoration and set with white metal poncoin inscribed 'C.I.H', supplied in a leather bound leather breakdown carry case with Cogswell & Harrison label to the inside of the lid, overall length 108cm, SN:69981.The initials set to the case 'C.I.H' and the poncoin are believed to be those of Mr Harrison of the gun making firm.Additional InformationOverall very good but bused condition showing only light signs of use, mainly to the finish on the stock, there is some slight bubbling to the finish on the right hand side, there is some minor rubbing to the blued finish on the barrels, most notably to the muzzle and the breach, very minor wobble to the fore end but overall a very solid and useable gun, bearing nitro proof marks, choked it quarter and half.
