Scarce 1939 England/Wales v Scotland/Ireland Services Red Cross International Rugby Programme: Sought after issue for this first big game during WWII, for the Red Cross Fund, at Richmond on 16th December 1939. Obolensky played, amongst many caps or 'caps-to-be'. Slim 8 pp edition with illustrated player penpics and to the cover the iconic, much-used 'reaching player' image associated with publications of Forsyth's (outfitters of Edinburgh and London) whose advert fills the back cover. Split to slightly rusty stapled spine & centre fold, & faint address to back, but entire, attractive, interesting and very redolent of time and place 80 years ago. (F/G)
1964/1965 ICFC Semi-Final Ferencvaros v Manchester United June 1965 in Budapest, Sportolj Velunk magazine with photos inside of the Manchester Utd match, one photo has Nobby Stiles in "discussion" with the referee and surrounded by United players including Pat Dunne, John Connelly, Pat Crerand, Shay Brennan, Bill Foulkes with Bobby Charlton in the background. Good. NB: no official match programme for this game.

1892 England International Rugby Cap: Made by W Ferguson of Rugby, Abe Ashworth's Cap from the game against Ireland at Manchester in 1892. Maroon six-panel cap with gold braid a little frayed in one spot, tassel boss only present, but in good condition outside and within for its vintage and fine provenance.
1987 Rugby World Cup Rugby Finals Set of Programmes- The Big Three: Great chance to secure the complete trio of official issues for the inaugural Rugby World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, May-June 1987 and won by New Zealand over France, with Wales beating Australia for 3rd place. All in good condition: 1) the Pool Stages, 72 pp. 2) the Quarter and Semi-Finals, 72 pp. 3) the Final and 3rd/4th Play-off, 64 pp. Complete with team sheets for Australia v England Pool Game and the Australia v France Semi-Final; the Final's teams are in the programme itself. London Counties v South Africa Rugby Programmes 1951 and 1960 (2): The first issue is generally accepted as the first magazine-style programme for a Twickenham game, and it marked the Springboks' only defeat of the tour. This copy is fairly distressed to the covers but very acceptable, with the inners entire, clean and well-illustrated, as the RFU caught up with and threatened to overtake the other unions' programme efforts. The second, a decade on, is virtually identical but cleaner and in VG condition. (2)

Part printed and finished by hand with gold and silver decoration, 1877-1977 The Football Association present this Testimonial to record their appreciation of the services to the game rendered by the Officers and Players of Bolton Wanderers Football Club over a period of 100 Years, framed measures 46x56cm approx. signed by the Chairman and Secretary, originally from Burnden Park.

Rare 1927 Cambridge University v New South Wales Waratahs Rugby Programme: In good condition for age, with scores neatly marked and the odd stain and crease, the classic CURFC single blue card issue with teams, announcements and evocative adverts, from this tour game won 18-11 by the tourists on Weds. 2 November 1927. Desirable.
2x Wales Rugby Tour to Australia Programmes from 1978 and 1996: v Sydney '78 - a little worn but very collectable issue from the game which the cover suggests was a long one: 27-28 May! Light staining to centre pages, otherwise quite good. Also with the NSW Waratahs v Wales at Sydney, 1996, large and colourful.
