AN EARLY 19TH-CENTURY BUFF STONEWARE GAME-PIE DISH of oblong form, unmarked, in the manner of Charles Meigh, complete with stand, liner and cover, variously moulded with latticework, the cover finely moulded with ferns and foliage and having a pheasant handle. 21.5cm long overall. Base - sound, cover sound, the dish itself has two small chips, hidden by cover, the liner somewhat discoloured.

Cricket - West Indies v Durham 1928. Large sheet nicely signed to right hand border in ink by twelve members of the West Indies team. Signatures include Nunes, Browne, Wight, Fernandes, Martin, Constantine, Scott, Francis, Small, St Hill etc. With handwritten note from C.R. Browne `The Game is bigger than the player` and initialed `C.R.B.`. VG £130/160 The match was drawn, for the West Indies, St Hill made 101 and Griffiths took 4-25. For Durham, Dobson made 105, and Howell took 4-91

Wide red border with vignettes of the laws of cricket, a village game and of batsmen illustrating a variety of strokes including Forward, Leg half volley, Home block, The Draw etc. Surmounted by a cricketer riding a flying bat (mammal). Laid down to board, 33x27”. Various tears and repairs mainly to corners, small holes, staining and age toning otherwise in generally good condition. Sold with a large mono copy print of ‘Lord’s on a Gentlemen v Players Day’ by Dickinson showing W.G. Grace coming in to bat with A.E. Stoddart, 39”x19”. Some wear, mixed condition

The album containing one hundred and seventy seven mono press photograph covering Warwickshire and Test cricket for the period 1951-1962. Includes coverage of Warwickshire’s first Championship winning season in 1951 including celebratory photographs, action shots from many of the matches, full length individual photographs of many of the 1951 players in action pose and good coverage of Captain Tom Dollery including his final season of 1955, England Test series v Australia in 1949/50 (in Australia), 1953, 1954/55 (in Australia), 1956, v West Indies 1957- with good coverage of May and Cowdrey’s record stand of 411 at Edgbaston, South Africa 1951 & 1955, India 1952, Pakistan 1954 and New Zealand 1958. Team photographs, action shots, groups, individuals etc. Most photographs are laid down to black card pages with titles and players/matches named. Excellent images. Photographs vary from 8”x6” to 8”x10”. Odd photograph signed including R.T. Spooner, . Some minor damage/ faults otherwise in good condition. A wonderful photographic collection of the club’s history and County and Test cricket for the eleven year period. A Jack Hobbs ‘The County’ full size bat from the game played at The Kennington Oval on 16th-19th August 1924, signed to the back by twelve England and twelve South Africa players. England signatures include A.E.R. Gilligan (Captain), Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Woolley , Tyldesley, Strudwick etc. South Africa signatures include H.W. Taylor (Captain), Commaille, Nourse, Ward, Blankenberg, Carter etc.Generally in very good condition The match ended in a draw with centuries for the Australians from Boon in the first innings and Ritchie in the second
