IN THE MANNER OF HEYWOOD HARDY "Blackcock and Hare", a study of dead game, oil on board, unsigned CONDITION REPORTS Has had significant re-painting especially to the background. There is some brown bubbling effect to the paintwork in the top right hand corner and there is a vertical line down the left hand side as if rubbed within frame or slip has the same along the bottom. The bottom right hand corner has flaked away from the board back. There is surface scratching throughout and some dirt or foxing the grouse's closed wing. There is an area of flaking to the hare's ear as well as smaller spaces throughout. The mount board appears to have been cut at some point badly with some flaking to all the edges - see images for further details
