CITY-UNITED CRICKET 68 Scorecard for cricket match at Lancashire CCC, Manchester City v Manchester United, 21/7/68, Football League Champions v European Cup holders. Played in aid of the Ken Higgs Benefit Fund and quite possibly the only known example of crowd trouble at a cricket match as City and United fans clashed. The scorecard has a fold but no writing as Bell, Lee and Summerbee etc took on Charlton, Best and Kidd. City won scoring 168 runs to Uniteds total of 79 and the crowd was 15,000 which contributed handsomely to the benefit fund. Unfortunately the crowd trouble ensured that the cricket game was not repeated in future years. Good
