Victorian Majolica oval game dish with liner, the cover and sides moulded with dead game and swags and grapes, 34cm CONDITION REPORT No markings. The liner has discoloured fairly large hairline crack to base running up both sides. Two losses to the lip of the liner, both approximately 3cm long. A further loss to the inside shelf of the dish base (shelf which the liner sits on), general wear but otherwise ok
Peel, Sir Robert. During his time as Home Secretary, Sir Robert Peel (1788-1850) introduced a number of important reforms. Those to criminal law included the establishing of a Metropolitan Police Force and what became known as the 'Peel Acts' that were passed between 1827 and 1832. These Acts involved a simplification of existing statues and were the product of this earlier failed proposal to codify the criminal law.
